Sync button missing for READ only users

Hello Everyone,
 
I just observed that users with READ only access in SharePoint Online do not have the Sync option available in Classic View of the library. But, the same Sync option is available for the same library in the Modern view.  Did anyone come across this issue.
 
Is this some bug in product? Any leads here - What can be done to get the sync option for READ only access?

    Hi bhanu chintha 

     

    I see the same thing in my tenant. If the read-only users change to the modern layout, everything is fine. In my setup, I have inserted the document library as a web page on a page. I have tried opening the document library as a read-only user and changed to the modern layout (just to check that it's not a web part problem) and here it works fine.

     

    Does anyone have a solution?

      Hello ahl2ndc ,

       

      What I understand here is, The "Actions bar" of New, Edit and Sync is completely hidden for READ only users and they have to click on the Ribbon and then click on the Sync option.
