Yesterday I began receiving email updates telling me that the Word documents I was working on have been uploaded to Sharepoint. This happens every time I insert a comment into the file. This only began to happen yesterday. I have never used Sharepoint, and only learned about the "Share" option when I searched Help to find ways to turn it off. I didn't turn it on deliberately. So I googled for instructions on how to stop this, and none of the instructions I found matched what I saw when I tried to turn it off in either the document or FIle Explorer. I just went into Word and clicked Help to identify the version I'm using, but they removed "About Word" from the Help menu, so the version isn't where it belongs anymore. I don't know where they put it, and it might not matter anyway. It's probably the latest version, in fact, this might have happened with a recent upgrade, I don't know. If my documents upload to Sharepoint, they're private, right? I'm a writer and I don't want my stuff going out there without me controlling things. Where does Sharepoint keep my files? I no longer have access to OneDrive because I was shut out one day when when my internet carrier switched my signal to another city, and I clicked "No" when Microsoft asked me if I was the one signing in from that city. They immediately locked me out of everything. I can't even get codes by text anymore. I got Outlook and microsoft.com back by signing in with my thumbprint on my phone, but it didn't help me with OneDrive, and I couldn't get support, so I've been unable to access it for months. If Sharepoint is happening on OneDrive, I might be in trouble. How do I stop uploading files to Sharepoint, and stop these annoying emails whenever I add a comment to a file? Thanks!7Views0likes0CommentsBox as an Alternative to SharePoint/OneDrive
We’ve been running into ongoing performance and sync issues with SharePoint/OneDrive, mainly due to the size of our project libraries and the number of users syncing across multiple devices. Just one of our document library alone has hundreds of thousands of files, and it’s starting to cause major slowdowns especially for remote staff. We’re looking to understand if Box might be a more stable or scalable alternative for managing large file structures. To be clear, I’m not looking to be contacted by sales reps or companies. I’m only interested in hearing from actual users who are currently using OneDrive/SharePoint or Box for file management and collaboration. Would like to hear how it’s working for your organization, what’s gone well, and what hasn’t.27Views0likes0CommentsAccessing Teams Private Channels Files in SharePoint
Is there an issue currently with accessing Teams Private Channel files in SharePoint? I have looked but cannot find anything. Recently our users that used to access Teams Private channel files within SharePoint (by going to the sharepoint site and Documents and then In Channels) have noticed that when they click a folder it doesn't take them into a file list, it just does nothing. If they then press F5 to refresh it will usually take them into the list of files. Accessing the files with Teams is fine still, only an issue if you use SharePoint. I've tried this on a few other sites within our Tennant and it happens on our other sites too.91Views1like2CommentsMicrosoft Syntex: Turning Your Documents Into Digital Intelligence

To address the SharePoint list/library threshold limit issue, we implemented a structured indexing approach: The document library contains 5000 items distributed across multiple libraries. We created indexes on relevant columns to optimize query performance and enable filtering/sorting without triggering the threshold limit. This indexing strategy allowed us to successfully access and manage the SharePoint site without performance degradation or errors due to the threshold limit. This approach ensures scalability and maintains usability for end users, especially when working with large datasets in SharePoint Online. Anyone has face the similar kind of situation and tried in a different way to fix that, then please share.152Views2likes3CommentsModernizing Legacy Intranets with SharePoint Online

Hello, I am trying to deploy the “Configure team site libraries to sync automatically” Group Policy for OneDrive, according to Microsoft’s official documentation, in order to automatically sync a SharePoint library for my users. Here is what I have already checked: The GPO is set to “Enabled” with the correct library string and format. The expected keys are present in the Windows registry on client machines. gpresult confirms the GPO is applied. All computers run Windows 10 (22H2), with the latest available OneDrive client. Files On-Demand is enabled. No related errors appear in the Event Viewer after multiple reboots and gpupdate. I have also tried applying the registry settings manually. Despite this, the target SharePoint library never appears for our users in File Explorer or in the OneDrive client. Has anyone faced and solved a similar issue? Are there any hidden prerequisites or troubleshooting tips for this policy? Thank you very much for your help!18Views0likes0CommentsBeyond Storage: Supercharging SharePoint with AI in Microsoft 365

Hey All, When a user enters a keyword in the top bar of on SharePoint-based Intranet, the results show files and folders from specific people's OneDrive. Is there a way to have that NEVER show as a result when using the top search bar on any page throughout our Intranet? We're not using a custom search results page. Thanks, Scott736Views0likes1Comment
