Sharepoint and data retention
Hello!
I have a few questions about how Sharepoint retains data in the case of a failure or accidental deletion; specifically the recycle bin.
-If an item/items are deleted from the recycle bin, is Sharepoint backed up by Microsoft in a way that those files could be restored via contacting Microsoft?
-Does Microsoft retain cloud backups of Sharepoint sites? If s, how often and how long are those retained?
-Is there a way to hide access to the Recycle Bin from members that doesn't include removing delete permissions?
Any info is greatly appreciated!

You can find more information about this here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/manage-the-recycle-bin-of-a-sharepoint-site-8a6c2198-910e-42dc-9a9c-bc5bc4f327da Regarding your second concern, I only have one idea and no sure solution. There are no separate authorizations for the recycle bin. The permissions are assigned at item level or library level. You could therefore try downgrading the permissions of the document library. Change this from Edit to Contribute. The user can then still create, edit and delete documents.
