open SharePoint online List Form in new tab

I have a list of customer information I receive from customers I need the form that receives this information to open in a new tab. The customers do not need to see the list of other customer information. I need to have the form stand alone. i.e... open in new tab. How would I do this?

I have worked though this problem. It is not 100% without problems however it is getting the job done for now. First:

I go the list and copy the new form URL.

Then I go to the page I would like to embed it.

Then I paste the URL but I need to adjust it. I remove the source information as when I click submit the list shows in replace of the form until refreshed. I paste the new form URL in the source area as well. This seems to walk.

  • Pamela_Brownfield Are you trying to open new item list form in new browser tab?

You can try using URL in this format:

    https://contoso.sharepoint.com/sites/mySite/Lists/myList/newform.aspx

You can directly share this URL with other users or add a button on SharePoint site (any/home) page and redirect to above link on click of button.

I am sorry for the late reply. Your answer was great however I am trying to embed my SharePoint online new list form on to a stand-alone page. I have been able to do this but when I click submit or cancel it  goes to the list. I don't want the users to see the list (only the form) ganeshsanap

Pamela_Brownfield as far as I am aware the customised form can't be opened in a new tab. If your customers are all internal, instead of building this as a customised form you should build the form in Power Apps as a standalone canvas app with the list as the data source. That way your users won't see other customer information.

Thank you for your help however I cannot use power apps as the cost for the per user license would be too high as I have over 5000 users. I am trying to use the out of the box SharePoint form with JSON coding.

Pamela_Brownfield Which Microsoft 365 license you have for all users?

You get access to Power Apps and Power automate (standard connectors and actions) with few of the M365 licenses (for example E3, E5, etc.) automatically and you don't need additional licensing for customizing the SharePoint list forms or using canvas Power apps application created using standard connectors and actions only.
