Microsoft Lists UI inserted in default SharePoint List View
Hi!
All the sites, subsites and lists we have in SharePoint Online have been configured for the modern experience and everyone has been using them without any problems.
But I received a call from a specific user who recently, when trying to access a certain list, saw the display in a different way, with the appearance of Microsoft Lists, but inserted in the default list, very strange..
Informations:
- Operating System: Windows 10
- Browser: Microsoft Edge, latest version Unsuccessful attempts: - Completely clear all browser cache
Notes:
- The user does not have the Microsoft Lists application installed on their computer or smartphone
All users normally see it like this:
But the user who has the problem sees it like this:
One thing I checked here on our sites is that of all list types, the only type that is undergoing this update is { id: 100, name: 'Custom List' }.
The other types are not affected.
ListBaseTemplates = [
{ id: 100, name: 'Custom List' },
{ id: 101, name: 'Document Library' },
{ id: 102, name: 'Survey' },
{ id: 103, name: 'Links' },
{ id: 104, name: 'Announcements' },
{ id: 105, name: 'Contacts' },
{ id: 106, name: 'Calendar' },
{ id: 107, name: 'Tasks' },
{ id: 108, name: 'Discussion Board' },
{ id: 109, name: 'Picture Library' },
{ id: 110, name: 'DataSources' },
{ id: 115, name: 'Form Library' },
{ id: 117, name: 'No Code Workflows' },
{ id: 118, name: 'Custom Workflow Process' },
{ id: 119, name: 'Wiki Page Library' },
{ id: 120, name: 'CustomGrid' },
{ id: 122, name: 'No Code Public Workflows' },
{ id: 140, name: 'Workflow History' },
{ id: 150, name: 'Project Tasks' },
{ id: 600, name: 'Public Workflows External List' },
{ id: 1100, name: 'Issues Tracking' }
]
Now, when you create a new blank list of type { id: 100, name: 'Custom List' } in SharePoint Online, it comes with the Microsoft Lists UI.
If you create a list of type { id: 1100, name: 'Issues Tracking' } and other types, the modern UI is maintained.
How to solve this problem?
- GrizzlyBunnyBrass ContributorWe have the same problem. Keep us updated if you find a fix.
- RussHeraldBrass ContributorI have the same issue personally. The url to one list (with no additions for webview in the url) shows the list view as shown in the original post. But only for this list (of which I am not the owner, although I am a SharePoint Admin). In a list which I do own, I do not see this.

Dear All,
In order to draw Microsoft's attention to this issue, so I created a centralized forum with all the users that have this issue.
Please access bellow link and add your comments/feedback ....
Lets hope someone will see our screams for help.

jandersonfcosta This user is likely just accessing the list from a different link. If the URL has
?env=WebViewList
in it, just take that out and the list should be displayed as expected.

Hi Hyan,
The URL does not have this parameter.
This case is very strange, the Microsoft Lists view (UI) is inside the default SharePoint list view.
Thanks for answering!

Image 1 is site installed as application / Image 2 is site opened in Edge browser ? Or image 1 is missing the upper part of the browser in the picture? If the latter is the case then you should check the "sharepoint theme" setting on the user side so it matches image 1, probaly using a specific corporate theme and should be the first one in the list when you open it.
- jandersonfcostaCopper ContributorHi Copirate, in both images it is the same Edge browser, in the latest version and the same URL.
I think I will improve the images so as not to generate doubts.

jandersonfcosta I've looked more closely at your screenshots and I see what you mean now. I did a bit of searching and going by this answers.microsoft.com post it sounds like it is a bug which is affecting a number of people. I would suggest opening a service request with Microsoft 365 Support.
- jandersonfcostaCopper ContributorHi Ryan, according to the post, yes it seems like it's the same problem, but no one not even Microsoft has a definitive solution yet.
I opened a support ticket a week ago with Microsoft and they still have NOT responded, absurd!
Thank you for another contribution. - jandersonfcostaCopper Contributor
Ok, I'll check that out!
