Folder details in a Document Library for File Path - continual scrolling to the bottom
In SharePoint Online, in a Modern Document Library, if I go to click on
- Select the Folder
- Click on Details icon
- Get to the More Details
- SCROLL ^3
- FINALLY get down to the BOTTOM for Path and can click on it to copy the direct path
The issue I have is that I have to CONTINUALLY SCROLL DOWN and DOWN and DOWN to get to the bottom of ALL the activity. This is something that is not too hold so maybe 20 seconds of scrolling with all the "activity" I do NOT care about, I wan the PATH!
I can finally get to the bottom and THEN get to the PATH to click and copy the direct path link.
Is there no way to make the "More Details" NOT display and only have the "Type folder" Path to make it so I can click that and avoid scrolling and getting frustrated?
Hello Matthew Carter
i found this solution for your case: https://anoopt.medium.com/copying-the-normal-classic-link-of-an-item-in-sharepoint-8baaf779e924
Or maybe it's possible to create a action with View or Column Formatting like this, but to copy the path: https://natechamberlain.com/2021/06/19/how-to-create-one-click-direct-download-links-in-modern-sharepoint-online-libraries/

Classic copy seems to have gone away but the scrolling issue still exists. It would be great if I could just move the "Path" above the "Activity".

Could you please confirm whether Microsoft has developed a solution to this issue? If so, please provide me with the details of the solution, including any documentation or instructions on how to implement it.
- marcusjcCopper ContributorI have had the same issue. this is what I use as a workaround:
1. File save as to the same folder and add an extension such as "1" at the end of the file.
2. I copy the file path of the new file and just subtract out the "1" or whatever you choose as the extension. - Sergey_LyakhBrass ContributorI'm really looking forward to trying DaveMehr365's solution (once I get the permission rights). If that works, that would solve the issue for everyone on every SP site in our company!

Thanks... but I guess because of how I am logged in, I see

Issue of path being below possibly long Activity list in Details pane of SharePoint online view of document list has bugged me a long time. I discovered fix today by accident, seems to work most of the time.
Hitting "End" key right after opening the Details pane goes to the end of its contents, where the Path is. "Home" key goes to the top.
- Sergey_LyakhBrass ContributorUnfortunately that doesn't work for very long activity history - it will sit at the "end" for only a split second before the next batch of activity loads. If you're fast enough, you might be able to click the "Copy Path" button. But for other solutions, see my answer or DaveMehr365's solution.

I guess you're right, I just got lucky before... It does seem like once the bottom of the listing is reached via laborious scrolling or multiple End, then clicking Info (circled i) to get out then again to go back in, then the End key does go to the bottom (at least sometimes...), so no savings of effort. Sorry for not exploring that thoroughly before.
