Outlook - Windows Security Pop Up Never Goes Away

I'm running into a head scratcher type of situation. I have a user who has reported that they are getting a Windows Security pop up from outlook that keeps showing up even after clicking Cancel or signing out/in to Outlook.

The user didn't put in their credentials.

Below are some things I've checked from a security standpoint:

  1. Checked the URL in the image using an analysis tool. Nothing malicious came back.
  2. Checked the URL "http://cdn.goalline.ca" it redirects to "https://stacksports.goalline.ca/". Nothing malicious there as well.
  3. Checked the domain cdn.goalline.ca and nothing malicious. Appears to be registered 20yrs ago and lines up with the stacksports site stating that it was founded in 2002.
  4. Checked enterprise AV, MS Defender and nothing malicious comes back.

Can anyone help in why this keeps popping up for the user? Also, how do we stop this from re-occurring?

due to the URI showing 'subscribe_ical' , I`d assume your user has tried to add a calendar event and rather than importing the ICS file only, has added it as internet calendar.

You could check the users Outlook profile by opening the account details on Outlooks´ backstage page.
I think it will show up here and the password prompt should be gone, once the entry has been removed:

Thanks! This is exactly what was causing the issue. I removed the entry from the user and it appears to have fixed the issue.

Mrudula021217 I had a similar issue that has been a problem for a while. I found yesterday that if you start the microsoft teams desktop app and update the password through there, it will solve the recurring windows security sign-in issue.

This has solved the issue for me for various computers now.
