Windows 11 Global Mute (Windows + Alt + K) not working in New Microsoft Teams
Good morning,
The old Microsoft Teams used to support the Global Mute shortcut within Windows 11. The upgraded version, New Microsoft Teams, no longer supports the Global Mute (Win + Alt + K) as far as I can tell. When I invoke the shortcut I get a message "No supported apps in use for mic mute".
I know that there is a built-in keyboard shortcut within New Teams (Ctrl + Shift + M) but the issue with that shortcut is that Teams needs to be active. Is the Global mute going to be added eventually to New Teams?
- It seems Microsoft is finally on the case. It's noted as "in development" and rollout should start in June 2024. Let's cross our fingers.

- brucevaughanCopper ContributorI have verson 24152.415.2975.367 of teams (Client version 49/24053101421). The icon on the taskbar toggles when I press Win-Alt-K, but it does not toggle the mic in the meeting that currently in progress.

Looks like Microsoft pushed an update to New Teams and this shortcut is now working.

It seems that for myself and all my colleagues at work, the feature has been broken *again* for the past few weeks.
Is it the same for all of you? I must say this is getting ridiculous, we'd all love a resolution shortly.

Yes this broke for me again with an auto update to version 24243.1309.3132.617.
This is very frustrating that updates keep breaking this feature.

ArianeBConformit the feature was rolled out and I can toggle the windows mic mute with Win+Alt+K but that does not affect the mic status in the new teams, I still have to mute it separately.

igor_n well that's pathetic. Hopefully it's an easy fix on their side.
I'm keeping hope as long as it's "rolling out", not as the last step on their scale.

Same issue here.
I got a forced update to the "new" teams and since then global mute doesnt work.
I posted it here on the answers.microsoft site : https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msteams/forum/all/new-teams-does-not-recognise-the-global-mute/be644508-a780-4781-b52f-6578628d1da6
