Unable to switch to guest organization
Hi,
I just started working with a customer that uses Microsoft Teams and was invited to join their team. I can see the team of the customer, but for some reason I am unable to switch to it. When trying to do so I get thrown out with the message that I don't have access to this org. Below you can see screenshots of this. I believe something is wrong with my account, as the customer tried remove and re-add me, and it still doesn't work. Can you help me out by checking my account status?
mdmrjp Hey, it's really difficult to troubleshoot remote sometimes. Especially when there most likely are different scenarios involved.
But a few general solution steps to follow is to try using a InPrivate browser Window https://teams.microsoft.com and see if it makes any difference. You should also sign out / sign in manually from the top right corner and make sure you're using an updated client if on the desktop app.
If the problem only occurs in the desktop app one could try and reset the Teams client by deleting the cache (entire content in the Teams folder) at %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams (go via Start button). If no luck reinstall the Teams desktop client.
When it comes to this particular issue I am almost certain (as previously mentioned) there is a problem with the account at the guest org. Both of you have said that they have re-invited you but this should be done by.
1. Remove the account from the AAD
2. Remove the account from the Bin as well.
3. Wait a while for things to synchronize.
4. Re-invite you.
If all of this has been done properly and there's still an issue I would like to direct you to the official Microsoft support and open up a ticket, or create another account (if applicable) and have the other org. invite you on that address.
Hope it helps in some way.

- TimLBIron ContributorIt took 24 hours nearly on the dot for a guest user experiencing this issue for our tenant to show up in their list.
We had deleted the user, the account was removed from the user recycle bin. After about 2-ish months we re-invited the guest.- dhanselCopper Contributor
I have two macs sitting side by side using O365 trying to log into teams as a guest using the Teams MacOS app. One works, the other doesn't. We've done all the recommended "things" including clearing cache, deleting the teams folder, deleting the keychain, etc. Sometimes it has worked in the past, asked us for a code that it has emailed, and let us in. But today, it no longer works and the Guest org has disappeared from the right-hand pulldown. After some time it might reappear, but it will no longer authenticate.
Why can't MS get this right? EVERYONE who is an outside contractor complains about MS Teams because of issues like this. One job to do MS! so far, it's a big #FAIL!

alexsod This is beyond ridiculous. I have tried everything I have seen online to no avail. It is definitely something on the microsoft side. It doesn't work for incognito browser or desktop client. I have cleared all cache, uninstalled and reinstalled with nothing working. The worst part is I can switch just find on my mobile app. This is a serious problem and ridiculous it has been happening this long.
- kdarius7Copper ContributorI have the same issue and still not getting solved. However, I found a root cause it.
I was once a O365 subscriber, I have a personal Hotmail account linked to my Microsoft account. When customer try to add me in the teams group, I am seeing my name displayed for personal use. I have never used the nickname in my work org.
I also realized that even I can delete my personal account, it still won't get fixed. So I am still waiting customer admin to make some configuration of AAD - Lamia_HarbegCopper ContributorSame problem here, I can't switch to the team I was invited to as a guest. It's working fine on my phone but not on my Laptop ( it is not even showing) .
- Daniel FerreiraCopper ContributorHi,
Same problem here!- MiHo85Copper ContributorFor us, it helped to add a Teams-group to the users before they accepted the invitation link.
- FinOneCopper ContributorHi alexsod , I had a very similar issue this week that seemed to have been solved when the admin at my customer updated my Azure AD account on their side. I had been set up previously with them and they actually needed to delete my old AD account and set up a new one. When I accepted the Azure AD invite Teams then let me into the other org.

alexsod Hey, do you experience the same issue when going to https://teams.microsoft.com using a InPrivate Window?
Am I getting this right that you cannot even switch tenant in the top right corner?
Have you tried to manually sign out and back in again? (top right corner as well).
If the customer deleted your account do you know if they also removed it from the bin? It only gets soft deleted by default which could interfere with a new invite.
Let me know some more details and I try to help out (if this isn't enough obviously!)
- alexsodCopper ContributorI have tried using a private window yes. And signing in out at least 10-20 times. I think my account is broken server side, where do I turn for support with this?

alexsod As I mentioned in the previous reply "If the customer deleted your account do you know if they also removed it from the bin? It only gets soft deleted by default which could interfere with a new invite."
In other words, have them delete it again (proper delete) and then re-invite you. This is only applicable if you're just having issues with the account at the other org. as a guest.
If you're experiencing problems using Teams in general please describe them for a better understanding.
