Teleworking

Hi,

The company I am currently working at has just started working with Microsoft Teams as a message forum. I am looking to work away from the office a few days a week. Have any of you got experience teleworking and using Microsoft teams as the main point of contact?

I need to find out if it is easy and reliable to use?

How does the software allow you to  collaborate on works? Files etc.

How does the program track your work, working ours meeting, etc?

You can use Microsoft project for that. It can be more reliable. Also, you can assign tasks for your colleagues as well. Thus you can keep track of your ongoing project.

    Regards,

Yes, Teams is a great tool for collaboration between office workers and remote workers. I recommend watching this video to get the overview of how it works if you haven’t already:

If your organization is just starting out with Teams, you may find that the biggest challenge is getting your colleagues to use it instead of their old familiar tools. Make sure that management is encouraging staff to use Teams as the hub for collaboration. You may want to let your IT staff know that you are willing to be a “Teams Champion” for your department as they are likely looking for power users to help everyone make the transition.

Regarding your specific questions: look up MyAnalytics for time tracking. For work hours, depending on what you are looking for specifically, you can set your online status in Teams, and there is also an app called Shifts where a manager can create schedules for their employees.
  • I work remotely full time and I use Teams as Teamwork tool for my work and to work wih my Team...it works really well
  • Teams id reliable and capable of many things. Working with files and messaging is a few of those! Teams is built for collaboration and to do this from everywhere and from all devices. Mobile/web/desktop...

About tracking it depends what you mean. Your calendar is integrated in Teams (Depending on setup )
so you can see/create meetings and connect to Teams meetings etc. If you are looking for schedules and clock in /out features there’s “Shifts” which is a built in feature in Teams.
