Teams PDF viewer ignores download restrictions set in SharePoint

I would like to restrict the team members from downloading certain pdf files as for their confidental nature (I simply want to prevent leaking the files to the public, but still allow the team members to read the documents within Team's interface). In SharePoint, I took me a very long time to set things up accordingly, but as for SharePoint itself, it's working now, if opened from SharePoint document browser, member can't download or otherwise manipulate with the files, only view them.

The problem is, when these files are opened from the Teams interface, they became available to download to everyone again.

Is there iny solution to this issue?

    How did you configure it to block downloads?  If you have Azure AD Premium P1 and Cloud App Security, I would suggest configuring a session based conditional access policy to block downloads.  I did exactly this just a few days ago and it works really well.  The policy is set up as below;

    I initially tried the app as MS Teams but it didn't work that way, and so switched it to Office 365 SharePoint Online.

    This works really well and when the user tries a download from Teams, they are blocked from doing so.

      Thank you for your prompt response

      I'll have a look into these setting, although for the last few days, I've been unable to modify setting in Teams admin center, system keeps throwing errors about not being able to load the Team data

        Teams has been under an understandable strain of late.  It seems to be steadily improving though.  Goof luck, hope you manage to get it sorted.  Let me know how you get on.
