Teams DTMF tones without a Phone System License?

I am setting up an auto attendant with two menu options. Option 1 goes to a call queue and option 2 goes to voicemail. Can Teams users choose these options if they do not have a Phone System license? If so, how to do they send the DTMF tone? Or is there another way to accomplish the goal without needing DTMF?

  • We have found that users without a Phone System license can still use the dial pad when in a Teams call, not a PSTN call. This was the functionality I was looking for and allows our users to call our Global Service Desk call queue directly in Teams. The technicians answering those calls do need a Phone System license to be an agent in the call queue.

  • Hi Jim_Abburzzese

In case you are building the capability for Internal Users all the users who want to dial the Auto-Attendant will require the phone system license. In no way users will be able to dial the numbers without the phone system licenses.

Even when you create the Auto-Attendant to assign a Number to the AA you will need a Phone Number and Phone System License for the same.
