SharePoint Documents Stopped Populating Teams Documents

My team and I use SharePoint for holding shared documents we all work on and access them through the Teams desktop app. We have a tab for Documents and everything was linked and working till last week. Now the documents in Teams don't show up in the tab. I tried reloading the Documents tab and that didn't work. Restarting the app doesn't fix it. I have found that uninstalling and reinstalling the app does fix the problem until the computer goes to sleep or is turned off, so maybe some issue with credentials. We can still access the Documents through online Teams.

Any things to try would be helpful, thanks

  • TheWayward1 Hey, I think this is a bug as I'm experiencing the same thing - but the workaround I've found is to add a 'Document Library' tab which seems to work ok.

    1. Select Add a tab
    2. Search and add 'Document Library'
    3. Select Use a SharePoint link
    4. Enter/Paste the URL of your document library then select Go
    5. Select the document library then select Next
    6. Select the folder then select Next
    7. Enter the name for the tab then select Save
    8. (Take a breath because this feels like a lot of steps just to add a tab... 😅)

It would help to report the issue as well via Help > Give Feeback

  • TheWayward1 The Teams files tab is simply a view of the folder for that channel in the SharePoint document library, there isn't a process of copying or population that makes them appear there.

Could you be saving the files into a different folder in the document library, one which is not shown in your channel? Can you show them side by side, SharePoint looking one way and Teams another?

StevenC365 Here's a screenshot of what I'm looking at. The left is the desktop Teams app, the middle is the online Teams, and the right is the relevant SharePoint site. Thanks for any help.

Edit: Sorry, I seem to be having trouble getting the screenshot to post.
