Ian_Lewczynski Solution on my computer was this option in sound control panel -> communications tab. I can't remember if this is default or if I set it at some point but we want to 'do nothing' rather than 'Reduce the volume of other sounds by 80%'
Where can I find this setting. I can not find it. And I have this horrible volume problem too.
Sultank2210 Have you tried updating the audio driver yet? I tried all the other solutions but this was the one that fixed it for me (and is was the quickest too xD )
