muting without hardware muting?
if I was in a teams meeting and wanted to mute myself in teams but not hardware mute, how would I do that? I just want to software mute teams while talking in other places. For example, being muted in teams but still being able to talk in a zoom call I'm in. I feel like this should be simple but I tried so many things.

Hitting the mute button in the Teams client does just that, unless you have some weird headset which synchronizes it with the hardware mute status. In which case, you probably have some setting to control this on the device level.
