Ian_Lewczynski I know I'm a bit late to the party. I was having the same issue of laptop speaker volume being too low while in the team meeting compare to other apps or using my headphone. And while looking for the solution, I was keep coming to your thread.
After experimenting with multiple options, the one that worked for me was to uncheck "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" under Speaker Properties -> Advanced tab
