File open preference 'Desktop app' is missing in the New Teams
Some employees (not everyone) don't have the option Desktop app in the settings menu > files and links. They only have Teams and Browser available. Does anybody know how to fix this?
This was the solution
The users with the problem have windows10 with 32bits Office
The New Teams is 64bits
To solve the problem they have to have Office 64bits
Teams 32bits could be a solution too, but we can't find a Teams 32bits download

welcome to the Microsoft community, my name is Recep I'll be happy to help you today.
I understand that File open preference 'Desktop app' is missing in the New Teams
The most likely reason that these options are missing is because at least one of three prerequisites isn't met.To fix this issue, make sure that the following prerequisite items are true:
You're using the https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-teams/download-app.
You download and install the corresponding Office desktop apps (Microsoft Office 2016 or a later version) from the https://portal.office.com/account#installs.
You have an https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/enterprise/compare-office-365-plans that includes the O365ProPlusRetail product ID.
