Azure Virtual desktop (AVD) Microsoft Teams flickers green after some time when on meeting
We have encountered a persistent problem with AVD Teams where the camera during meetings experiences flickering. This issue has been ongoing for the past three weeks. Some participants observe a green screen, while others notice general flickering. However, the audio remains unaffected. The problem primarily arises when there are four or more people in the meeting or when screen sharing is initiated. Additionally, the issue tends to worsen after approximately 10 minutes or more. It is important to note that this problem is specific to AVD and does not occur on our laptops.
Troubleshooting steps:
- Disable the "Disable GPU hardware acceleration" option.
- Ensure that Teams on AVD and the Wertc software are up to date.
- Teams is Optimize.
- Verify if the issue occurs only when there are four or more people in the meeting or during screen sharing.
- Check if the issue is specific to AVD and does not occur on laptops.
- Remote Desktop client is up to date , tried a roll back same issue.
- Changed the settings on the host pool to session behavior & device redirection as per another post here.
What's going on ??

Dobboman I know this is probably not helpful for anyone on here anymore, but ultimately, we ended up having to plug in our webcam directly into a 3.0 port on whatever computer is being used to connect to the virtual machine. In our scenario, we had Dell Desktops we used to connect to Azure VMs; used the USB-C to USB-A (3.0) cable that came with the webcam, and plugged the device directly into any 3.0 port on the computer. Any other setup resulted in the same flashing green screen that was mentioned.

Agreed one of the recent updates fixed it for me.
I would make sure you are update to date on : remote client, WEB RTC service and teams :

Hello William,
Thanks for your email.
My escalation team has confirmed that the flickering of screen during screen sharing in Teams Meeting is a known issue that is currently receiving attention.
Please let the users select the option "Share the entire screen" and see if it will help.
Please refer to the document below for Teams on VDI and documented known issues.

william320 - For reference, we're seeing it regardless of whether or not a person shares their screen. It's not every meeting, but if the meeting goes on long enough it'll start to happen.
gevans26 - Was it Microsoft who indicated that it was an Intel driver issue?
We just updated Teams for AVD, FSLogix and WebRTC on our AVD hosts this week and we're trialing the suggested workstation reg key on a few folks, it'll be a few days before we have results, but crossing fingers.- william320Copper ContributorHi WhiskeyTangoFox,
Are you still seeing this issue with your users - i have updated everything possible and my users are still facing the issue?
- william320Copper ContributorHi All,
Did anyone get a solution for this issue yet ?
HELP!!
Many Thanks! - ignite24Copper Contributor
Anyone have any luck here yet? We keep getting asked to send logs, but no progress. It fully seems to be with how the video redirection is handled, but I feel like nothing we have been asked to gather would have the right info.
- m77ewlCopper ContributorAt least you are getting a response (since its been passed to the AVD Team I have no response

Anyone able to remediate this issue? unfortunately we are still facing this issue for months now.
and updates and other provided tweaks doesnt help. 😕- WhiskeyTangoFoxCopper Contributor
No updates on our end. Microsoft continues to archive our ticket as well which is pleasant of them. We're continuing to try to fix this ourselves and have planned upgrades of FSLogix, Teams (for AVD) and WebRTC in the next few weeks to see if that'll help.
- m77ewlCopper Contributorafter months of escalations, we now have a reply from MS they have asked us to update WEBRTC to version 1.43.2306.30001, will let you know if it does anything different.
- csongorvargaCopper ContributorI am not sure if this is related, but I am using a Cloud PC and and the Windows 365 app to access the remote desktop.
Sympthoms are the same:
- Shared screen flickers between a green screen and a frozen charged screen
- Sometimes the video feed of certain user also flickers into green
- Audio not affected
I see no hardware acceleration options in Windows 365, so there is no setting I can change.
i will share with you 2 screenshot to enhance the session behavior and the device redirection for audio and video. configure them and test your teams meeting again.

elieelkarkafiThank you.
I saw this on the other post , I have tested this seem to be same issue.- are your users sitting behind any firewall or proxy that is filtering the traffic with AVD ?
