Am I able to only have some files to check out in teams

Hi

I have teams and a group within it  I fully understand that when you click on check out option you have to check out/ in every file in the group.

Is there anyway that I can do it so that only certain files need to be checked in/out without having to create a new group.  Doesn't matter how as long as in same group I have already created
