A couple of Teams questions post migration

Hi, we are on our way to using Teams and have run into a few minor issues

1) How do we move the Teams banner notification to another location on the screen or monitor? Skype for Business allows this.  It's interfering with Outlook notifications since they both come in the same place and is annoying.

2) In the chat section how do I automatically have everyone in our firm appear in everyones contacts in chat?

3) Calls controls are not working with any of our headsets - primarily W720 and DWPro1

Thanks.

  • 1. It will show on the primary screen set in Windows, so the same as Outlook. It is not possible to change the location of this.

    2. No, that is not possible. Better to educate your user how to add the persons they really need to have on the contact list.

    3. When in Teams Only mode it should work better. For Plantronic devices make sure that you set Teams as your Target Softphone in Plantronics Hub software. And close Skype, then it will work better.

      Thanks.

      1) Ok

      2) Ok

      3) I updated the firmware and installed the Hub software and it works much better

      Few new issues

      4) ALL external calls from ALL users are being recognizes as Skype for business numbers. Example, from my Teams desktop I call my cell#, and it is being recognized and a skype for business # (this is again all numbers externally and for all users).  I don't know if it matters but we are all on Teams only, and the main setting under 'Teams upgrade' is set to Teams only except for the admin

      5) Calls coming IN to our users, they are able to add other users....but in the ADD (2 people icon) setting they cannot search through external contacts or type their names in as they could in SFB, so they have to manually type their # in.

      6) Also, when I am on a call and another call comes in...it totally takes over the call and I cannot hear anyone on the original call.  Happening to all our users.

How does teams group calling work? We have group calling set and I see the section below voicemail and have it set to 10, so is that number for how long it rings before goimg to voicemail or how long it rings before calling the group?

      • You have two options

        • Also ring: Call Group
        • If unanswered: Call Group

If you set Call Group in Also ring, the members in the Call Group will get your calls at the same time as you get them.

If you set If unanswered: Call Group the members of the group will get your calls after the numbers of seconds you set in the next drop-down, in your case 10 seconds.

So if you have it set like this:

        • Also ring: Call Group
        • If unanswered: Voicemail
        • Ring for this many seconds: 10

It will ring on you and your call group for 10 seconds and then forward to voicemail.
