Microsoft Forms interface stuck in Swedish after login – account language is Italian
Hello,
Microsoft Forms is displayed in Swedish after I sign in, even though all my language settings are set to Italian (Italy).
I have already checked the following:
Microsoft account display language: Italian (Italy)
Microsoft 365 interface: Italian
Microsoft Edge preferred/display language: Italian
The issue also occurs in an InPrivate session
Before signing in, the Microsoft Forms website is correctly displayed in Italian. Immediately after signing in, the Forms dashboard and editor switch to Swedish.
This suggests that the locale/language associated with my Microsoft Forms profile may be incorrectly stored as Swedish on the service side.
I have already contacted Microsoft Consumer Support. They confirmed that they cannot access the Microsoft Forms backend or modify the Forms profile locale, and advised me to report the issue here and through the Microsoft Forms feedback function.
I also tried the Feedback option inside Microsoft Forms, but clicking it does not open anything, both in normal browsing and InPrivate mode.
Could someone please check whether the locale associated with my Microsoft Forms profile can be reset from Swedish to Italian (it-IT)?
Thank you.

Since the language changes only after sign-in and the same thing happens in InPrivate mode, this is unlikely to be caused by Edge, cookies or the local language settings. An account-level locale used by Forms is probably overriding them.
As a temporary test, open Forms with the language parameter:
https://forms.office.com/?lang=it-IT
If Forms still changes to Swedish after authentication, the account-side locale needs to be investigated.
For a work or school account, the Microsoft 365 administrator should verify the user’s preferredLanguage value in Microsoft Entra ID and the language and time-zone settings in Microsoft 365. After correcting them, allow some time for the change to reach Forms. If those values are already Italian, the administrator should open a Microsoft 365 support case and request escalation to the Forms service team.
For a personal Microsoft account, no setting or community moderator can directly reset the Forms backend profile. Microsoft Support must escalate it to the Forms engineering team. Provide screenshots showing the page before and after sign-in, the affected account type and the expected locale it-IT, but do not post the email address publicly.
The failed Feedback button is a separate issue and should also be mentioned in the support case. Repeatedly clearing the browser or reinstalling Edge is unlikely to help, given the InPrivate test.

Hi Ryan, thank you — I tested your suggestion and adding ?lang=it-IT to the Microsoft Forms URL works.
When I open Forms using https://forms.cloud.microsoft/Pages/DesignPagev2.aspx?lang=it-IT, the entire interface is correctly displayed in Italian, even while signed in.
However, if I access Forms normally without the lang=it-IT parameter, the interface switches back to Swedish.
So it seems that Italian works correctly when explicitly forced, but Swedish is still being selected as the default locale for my Forms account.
Is there a way to permanently change/reset the default Forms locale to it-IT, so that I don’t need to add the language parameter to the URL every time?
I have already contacted Microsoft Consumer Support, but they told me they don’t have access to the Forms backend or the ability to modify the profile locale.
Thank you again for your help!
Your testing points to an account-side Microsoft 365 locale, not Edge: Forms is Italian before sign-in, changes to Swedish after authentication, and reproduces InPrivate. For a work or school account, open Microsoft 365 Settings, choose Change your language, set Display language to Italian, save, then sign out of every Microsoft 365 tab and sign in again. Microsoft notes that language changes can take time to propagate. If Italian is already selected, ask your administrator whether the organization controls this setting and whether your account’s preferred language is Swedish; some configurations prevent users from changing it. For a personal Microsoft account, recheck the account profile language and region, then test Forms in a new browser profile. Since browser-state tests did not help, reinstalling Edge is unlikely to fix this. If Forms remains Swedish after 24 hours, open a support case and request examination or reset of the service-side profile locale.

Hi Jamony, thank you for your reply.
I have an update that may help identify the issue. Following another suggestion in this thread, I added ?lang=it-IT to the Microsoft Forms URL, and this successfully forces the entire Forms interface to display in Italian while I am signed in.
However, when I access Forms normally without the lang=it-IT parameter, the interface returns to Swedish.
This seems to confirm that the problem is related to the default locale associated with Forms rather than my browser settings.
I have also already contacted Microsoft Consumer Support. They told me that they do not have access to the Microsoft Forms backend and cannot modify the locale associated with my Forms profile.
Do you know if there is another way, or another Microsoft support channel, to have the default Forms locale permanently reset to it-IT?
Thank you for your help.
