Tab is not visible for single member in shared channel

Hello everyone,

Another day, another M365 mystery. I have a client who added a website tab to a shared channel that is linked to a Planner plan. Technically, this “plan” isn’t a standard plan, as it was created via a Loop component in the channel conversation. Very confusing, I know.

So far, so good—this tab is visible to all members of the shared channel except one person. I’ve checked, and everyone has the same licenses. Any ideas on how to solve this mystery?

Best regards,
Hisham

  • May worth to try this for the fix:

    1. Loop Permissions & Storage Location
      • Loop components created in Teams channels are stored in the associated SharePoint site.
      • If the tab links to a Planner plan created via Loop, ensure the affected user has access to that SharePoint location. Try sharing the Loop component directly via loop.microsoft.com to confirm access.
    2. Teams App Settings
      • Go to Teams Admin Center > Teams Apps > Manage Apps and confirm that the Loop app is allowed for the affected user.
    3. Teams Cache Reset
      • Quit Teams completely.
      • Open Run (Win + R) and enter:
      • %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams
      • Delete all files in that folder.
      • Restart Teams.
    4. Platform Differences
      • Confirm whether the user is on desktop, web, or mobile. Some tabs behave differently across platforms.
    5. Loop Component Visibility
      • If the tab is a website tab linking to a Loop-based Planner, it’s possible the Loop component itself has restricted visibility. Try pinning the Loop link in the channel conversation as a workaround while resolving tab visibility.
