restoring deleted user is giving me "Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.InvalidLicenseException"
Hello
Just restored a deleted user, trying to acces his mail from OWA and received this error:
X-OWA-Error Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.InvalidLicenseException
the user was sync with active directory, now, after the restore, the user switch to "cloud" sync type. That's alright for me, I just need to get acces to his mail
any idea why I get this error?
thanks

Well did you assign a qualifying license to the user after recovering the deleted account? Converting to shared mailbox might work in some cases as advised above, but in general you should make sure to respect the licensing requirements (for example Archiving requires a license, etc.)

Hi
Check user mailbox in https://outlook.office365.com/ECP if the mailbox size is correct. Then convert it to shared mailbox and give full access to your admin account (at this step you can remove license from account). Looks like problem on exchange services, maybe temporary/maybe not.
