Hi Jim -- this is getting traction on the UserVoice page, which in turn will bring more attention to this change in functionality. Could you go vote for it here please? https://outlook.uservoice.com/forums/322590-outlook-2016-for-windows/suggestions/11596416-allow-multiple-months-in-to-to-do-bar-like-in-outl
Adding Jennifer Lu as FYI (the PM for Windows Outlook calendar).

Thanks...I don't think have a Developer version, but will check. Just looking at the Icons in your Ribbon though, they look very different to mine. They look like Outlook 2013 Icons and not the new 365 Icons. I could be wrong on that, but it might be worth checking your Outlook version. File > Office Account

I already confirmed the version to be same as yours in above screen shot, (theoretically) but the difference is I am on the desktop client, not 365. I noticed this question, while titled "desktop client..." is in an "office-365" forum, apparently. I had commented on an old post and I think it's still the case that the feature has not returned! Sadly. Thanks for your time though. Happy New Year!

RehabilitatedCorpEE I too thought I was imagining things. So good to see at least I am not alone. This was a great feature and there is no reason to have it go away. Now there is just one calendar with a lot of empty space around it. This is helpful, really?? They usually add one functionality and take away three useful ones. So much for technology. Look at the world around us.

Ahh...sorry about that and no worries. I'm also using the Desptop client but it is 365 true. I will do some more digging though since it is intriguing. If I find anything, I will advise. Cheers
