Can't edit anything with 365 downloaded from OneDrive

Dear clever ones

I'm a very basic user of MS365. I've used it a long time and I've been happy with it. Until now:

I bought another laptop to use at my other home. And let me start by saying, that I always use Free space when I change apartments.

I have no problems with my original laptop, but I see both of them as users when I sign into MCStore. I've used succesfully both until July.

Before July I suddenly started having messages on top of Word files saying something like my order ends 3 July. I ignored it as my 365 order end in December (checked it). Nothing happened with my first laptop. But on second laptop I no longer can edit any files (all of them on OneDrive).

I even bought family-365 thinking maybe that's it. No help.

I used to application fix, I downloaded desktop version again. No help.

The files are not marked as read-only.

I tried downloading the file on my laptop and opened it from there. No help.

On the word file itself it says that I need to sign in (I AM signed in and that it doesn't work because cach is outdated (sorry, trying to translate). I've emptied it as far as I knew. No help.

MS doesn't seem to have a real person support - at least not im my country. It was easy to pay for 365, but the dratted thing doesn't work and I'm out of my wits with this.

Please, please, help me!

Carlotta

Customer service terminate and reactivated my subscription. I got rid of the unnecessary Family plan and went back to a individual oneSo, I finally found a working chat service (chatbot just return you to pages where I found the not, totally useless).

They knew the problem, they say it is a "trending problem", they remotely fixed some cache thingie and now all is well. MS could have a noticed on Store front Page with instructions how to fix it, but as I said, all is well now.

Please provide the following to assist you further:

    1. What is your Microsoft 365 subscription?

    2. What is your subscription plan?

    3. When last did you renew your subscription?

    4. What kind of file did you want to edit?

    5. Did you want to edit with other Microsoft 365 Office application such as Microsoft Word?

Usually when a product subscription expires, you have limited functionalities to use the product unless you renew.

    I hope this helps!

I'm not quite sure about the difference between substription and plan... I had one year home version substription to valid until 3 December, today updated to 365 family plan with no help whatsoever. I've tried editing with Word, Excel and PowerPoint, same thing with all. Restarted computer, re-installed desktop versions and - nothing.

Non MS applications working fine. Also when opened from OneDrive. MS Store shows me signed in all the time, but applications not.

And this problem is only with one laptop, not the other. First laptop works with all MS apps just fine. Second one did work before, but only the last two weeks not. I always free the files after use, as the info must be usable on both computers. Last weekend I thought that randomly i might have forgotten to free space, but it wasn't that. That has been checked.

OneDrive is only 80 % full, so it's not that either.

Was the home subscription due to expire December 3, 2023 or December 3, 2024? Subscription is the product and its available features while subscription plan is whether you renew monthly or annually.

Is there Microsoft 365 Home plan? What I found online were Microsoft 365 Personal plan and Microsoft 365 Family plan.

        https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/buy/compare-all-microsoft-365-products

Moreover, it seems the upgrade plan did not apply to your subscription so you may have to open a support ticket as there might be some issues with your subscription which will require backend resolution.

        I hope this helps!
