365 App sign in and editing issues

Hello,

I am attempting to edit a word document saved in OneDrive. I am signed in to Microsoft with my personal email where I have a full access subscription. Upon opening the document the app states "This account does not allow editing on your device. For an account with full access, contact your organization about your subscription plan". I attempt to sign in and it states "We couldn't find a work or school account with that email".

**For reference I have used my Galaxy phone many times to edit documents. I'm not sure what the lost connection is now.

I went to double check that I was opening the document from my personal email OneDrive and that I was signed into the 365 app with my personal email

  • The desktop Office apps require a valid M365 license in order to edit documents, this is not related to the permissions on the document or your OneDrive. Make sure you have a valid Office license. Or just use the web apps, they allow editing without additional licensing.

I have the same problem, and I DO HAVE a valid M365 Family license with FULL Office access, which I use daily on my home desktop computer. If you read carefully the original post, they stated that they also have a "full access subscription."

Why does the Android app expect a "work or school" account when we are signed in with a fully paid M365 Family account?

      Respectfully,

      Michael Paxton
