Matching customer invoices to multiparty private offers

What’s the best way for a reseller to match an Azure Marketplace customer invoice to its multiparty private offer and subscription in Partner Center? We’ve had invoices missing from our reporting and multiple charges tied to the same offer with different Asset IDs. Which reports or fields should we use to match them?

Can we also see whether a credit was issued, or does that require the customer’s billing access or Microsoft Support?

  • You need to reconcile customer Marketplace invoices with multiparty private offers, including multiple charges and differing Asset IDs. An offer name alone is not a reliable transaction identifier. Download the Earnings Marketplace report and compare it with the Orders and Revenue reports. Microsoft defines assetId as the asset identifier, LineItemId as the individual customer invoice line, and OrderId as the purchase item identifier matching PurchaseRecordID in Revenue. Retain those fields together with subscriptionId, customerId, dates, currency, and amounts when matching records. The isPrivateOffer flag identifies private transactions but does not uniquely identify a particular offer. Also note that invoiceNumber is documented as applicable to enterprise transactions only. For possible credits, inspect transactionType and reasonCode, then ask billing support to confirm the customer invoice or credit note. Missing report rows alone do not prove that a customer was never billed.
