I am new to the marketplace, how much traffic/downloads is typical for a new app on appsource/teams
Hi!
I am new and I plan on submitting my app to appsource and teams.
I wanted to know what type of traffic or downloads app views are typical. Is submitting the app here enough to get enough traffic/business. Looking forward to any advice/experience on this
Thank You!
You’re welcome, I’m glad I could help. I understand that product development is your priority, and you want to create a high-quality app that meets your customers' needs. However, having a good product is not enough to guarantee success in the marketplace. You also need to make sure that your potential users are aware of your app and its benefits.
The Teams store has more visibility and engagement than the AppSource, but that does not mean you can rely solely on users browsing or searching the store. Many factors influence the discoverability and popularity of an app, such as its category, keywords, ratings, reviews, etc. It would help if you also considered the competition and the demand for your app’s functionality.
I recommend that you have a small marketing plan for promoting your app, even if it is just a basic one.
You can also leverage the benefits that Microsoft offers to help you in the process, such as the co-sell program, the go-to-market services, the partner network, . You can find more information about these benefits on the web page.

hi, i have experience publishing several services and apps in Teams and appsourse.
In my experience, the traffic or downloads an app can expect on AppSource and Teams can vary greatly depending on different factors such as the app’s functionality, entry barriers, pricing, target audience, etc.
The key factor is how well it’s promoted by your company BUT, also you can use benefits offered by Microsoft to help you in the process. (can you ask to @Justin)
Here are some Tips to increase visibility and engagement for your app:
Invest time in your Microsoft Teams Store listing: Make sure your listing is eye-catching and succinctly communicates what makes your app special. from the description till the images and videos.
Promote your app by your own: Use social media posts, blog posts, and press releases to announce your app1. You can also create a link that launches Teams and displays a dialog to install your app, and include this link as a download button on your product’s marketing.
Offer a freemium experience or free trial: This can attract new users to try out your app and once you get the lead start the lead qualification process in your CRM system with your marketing strategies.
Regularly update your app: Keep your app fresh and relevant by regularly releasing updates, publishing in the marketplace is not only one shot. building an app is just the first step.Promoting your app and making it easily discoverable will be crucial to its success.
Good luck with your app launch! 🚀

Microsoft
Fantastic answer, thank you! Microsoft has some great programs to help you (I specifically help Teams app publishers if you want to reach out), but it's very important that you have your own marketing plan and use the Microsoft benefits to supplement, support and amplify your own efforts.
These notes above are important! Thanks so much!!! - Jkrn0Copper ContributorThank you very much for the response this helps quite a bit. I plan on putting a lot of time into product development rather marketing. With a good product is there enough traffic to avoid blogs/social media posts just from users browsing/searching the store?
