Confirming a Marketplace purchase counts toward an Azure commitment
If you mean the customer’s Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC), the Azure benefit eligible badge is the starting point, but it isn’t the whole check.
Before sending the offer, confirm that the customer has an active MACC and will purchase using an Azure subscription tied to the billing agreement that holds that commitment. Also confirm the specific offer and purchasing route are eligible—particularly if this is a reseller/private-offer transaction. Accepting a private offer alone doesn’t complete the purchase.
After purchase, the customer’s billing team can check the MACC balance and eligible charges in Azure Cost Management + Billing, once the charges have been processed. Your Partner Center sales or payout records don’t, by themselves, confirm that the customer’s commitment was reduced. You’d need the appropriate access to their billing scope, or confirmation from their billing team.
For a deal where this affects the buying decision, have the customer’s Microsoft account team confirm eligibility against the actual offer and billing agreement before purchase. That’s safer than promising MACC credit based only on the product badge.
