Subject: Delivering Microsoft AI Certifications in a 5-Month MOOC Format
- Apr 07, 2026
Hi vk2, thanks for reaching out.
There is no absolute requirement that you deliver course training in successive days. TSPs can get creative with the cadence in which they are delivering training. If you want to extend an official MSFT course over weeks and months because it fits your business model, then you are empowered to do that.
I think the tricky part is labs. Labs have inherent cloud cost exposure which is why they are generally limited to quick durations. I know there is not currently a Microsoft solution for this. I would suggest working with your preferred Authorized Lab Hoster (ALH information is in our Get Started documentation), to see what options are available to you.
This actually sounds like a solid idea, especially with how fast AI skills are getting in demand.
A 5-month MOOC format could work well for Microsoft AI certifications, but it really depends on how it's structured. If it's just theory-heavy, people might lose interest halfway. But if you include hands-on projects, real-world use cases, and maybe some guided labs, it can be very effective.
One challenge I see is keeping learners consistent for 5 months. Most people start MOOCs with excitement but drop off after a few weeks. So things like weekly milestones, small assessments, and maybe some community interaction (forums or live sessions) could help a lot.
Also, Microsoft certifications can be quite technical, so beginner-friendly onboarding would be important. Not everyone coming into AI courses has a strong coding or data background.
Overall, it’s definitely doable, but the focus should be more on engagement + practical learning rather than just completing the syllabus.
mohdadeeb, Thanks so much for your thoughtful feedback. I really appreciate your guidance. My thinking is very much in the same direction, especially around format, engagement, and strong hands‑on experience. I’ll plan a program with those elements and see how it goes. - vk2
