Check this out:
- Check Your MFA Registration
Go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info
- Confirm that Microsoft Authenticator is listed as a sign-in method
- If it’s missing or outdated, re-register it from this page
- Force a Fresh Authenticator Sync
- Open the Authenticator app
- Tap your account → Remove it
- Re-add the account using the QR code from the security info page above
- Make sure notifications and background refresh are enabled on your iPhone
- Try Alternate MFA Methods
If you added a backup method (e.g., SMS or email), you can:
- Click “Sign in another way” during login
- Choose the alternate method to bypass the broken Authenticator prompt
- Clear Browser Cache and Use a Clean Session
Sometimes cached tokens interfere with MFA handoff:
- Use a private/incognito window
- Clear cookies and site data
- Try logging in from a different browser or device
- Contact Your Azure Tenant Admin
If this is a work or school account, your Azure AD tenant admin may have:
- Enforced stricter MFA policies
- Disabled fallback methods
- Blocked Authenticator registration from unmanaged devices
You’ll need their help to reset your MFA registration or temporarily disable enforcement.
