CANNOT OPEN THE SPECIFIED FILE with tel:-hyperlink

Hi,

I have several "tel:" hyperlinks in a Excel sheet (xlsm).

Yesterday, they sended the phone numbers to whatsapp. But today i become the errer:"CANNOT OPEN THE SPECIFIED FILE".

I saved yesterday a xlsx file as xlsm, after the conversion, the links were still working.

What goes wrong?

    1.    Check Windows default apps
o    Go to Settings → Apps → Default apps → Choose default apps by protocol.
o    Scroll down to TEL and see which app is assigned. If it’s blank, assign WhatsApp (or another calling app).
    2.    Test outside Excel
    o    Open a browser and type tel:+123456789.
o    If nothing happens, Windows doesn’t know what to do with tel:
    3.    Excel Trust Center
o    File → Options → Trust Center → Trust Center Settings → External Content.
o    Make sure hyperlinks aren’t being blocked.
    4.    Recreate the hyperlink
    o    Right-click → Edit Hyperlink → re-enter tel:+number.

This didn't even come close to solving the problem. I don't know why my original comment hasn't been approved by moderation, but I gave more context. "tel:" hyperlinks aren't working in Excel or Word, but they do work in notepad. This is after the latest MS365 update. Regular hyperlinks DO work in Excel and Word, though. This update broke "tel:"

I was able to email my Excel spreadsheet to myself in Outlook. When I used the preview option in Outlook the "tel:" links worked, but ONLY in the Outllok preview plugin of Excel.

The same thing is happening to me. Regular hyperlinks will open, but "tel:" link will not. This happens in excel and word, but not notepad, so I'm assuming it's a Office 365 issue. Saving or exporting the excel to a pdf and opening in chrome will treat "tel:" links as they were pre update.
