Business Central Device Licensing - Service Management

Not trying to resurrect a week old thread here since LicensingConcierge1 did a good job of laying out the specifics but I just stopped by to float the idea of a bespoke solution that wouldn't have such licensing requirements.
As mentioned, device licenses have very specific scenarios in mind. Team Members also get some rights as well.
I'd have to believe that there's a way to get done what the client needs to get done without a premium license *and* without multiplexing but it sounds like you're just paying the tax for wanting it all done out of the box. For what it's worth, I've worked a BC project with another large 3rd party Field Service company, and it also required users to have full licenses.

Thanks Blake....I just saw your reply now. Which 3rd party solution did you work with? I'm familiar with Anveo, FieldBoss and ExpandIt, but I only have hands-on experience with Anveo. Also, we are exploring the option of building our own IP that would operate without using Service Management, so that Essentials licenses would be feasible.
