I’m interested in understanding how partners are currently approaching complex ERP modernization scenarios, especially when working with long-standing legacy systems and heavily customized environments.

From a partner delivery and strategy perspective:

Are you seeing more clients choosing full reimplementation vs phased migration?

How are you handling deeply customized legacy environments during transition to D365 Finance & SCM?

What’s the biggest challenge today, technical complexity, client mindset, or cost justification?

Are clients more open to cloud now, or still preferring hybrid/extended legacy setups?

How are you positioning value when clients feel their current system is “good enough”?

As I am sure you are all aware we all need to claim CPOR when we are not the billing partner.

I have seen some changes to this process in recent months and wanted to get some clarification please

Build Intent - Advisor (Pre-sales)
- We have recently been told that this is only for incentives
  - So now Msft will pay you for workloads that you are not recognised for ??
Influenced Revenue Recognition - Non Incentivised
- This will get you association and recognition for the workloads
Usage Recognition - Non Incentivised
- This will get you association and recognition for the workloads
- You appear to only be able to claim this if you use the Msft template.
  - All other signed documentation appear to be rejected

My questions are

When did Msft make these changes and why
What is the difference between Influenced and Usage Recognition
Why MUST we use the template, and not be able to use a signed SoW with the details included
We are now potentially making 3 claims per customer to ensure that they are fully associated to our Solution Designation scores

Using GDAP with Purview Roles for Search and Purge

I'm facing an issue that I believe may be related to how my current employer has set up GDAP, but I am struggling to get a solid answer on the solution to the issue as it's not clear if the problem is simply a limitation through GDAP or something not configured correctly.

Scenario: We have a GDAP relationship set up with 20+ clients that provides us with Entra roles such as Security Operator, User Administrator, etc. Various Entra roles to perform common tasks as an MSP

We are currently unable to perform email purges using Explorer in Defender or Purview, as the role required appears to be only assignable to a user account or group that exists in the tenant in question, and as we are acting through GDAP, there is no account or group to give that role to.

On the back of this, I have several questions/requests:

Should a GDAP relationship also create some group or guest/external user that roles of this nature can be assigned to?
Is there something specific we need to do through our GDAP configuration to allow us to search and purge emails?

D365 SCM Warehouse Only licensing requirement

Hi all,

If anybody has more insights on the D365 SCM Warehouse Management Only solution and it's licensing requirement, that would be great: Warehouse management only mode overview - Supply Chain Management | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn.

Eg. does the customer needs to pay regular SCM licenses with 20 seat minimum? (I expect so).

Or, since it's only a part of the SCM module, are there some license exceptions?

Team Members 15 Additional Tables

Team members have their own apps, e.g., Sales Team Members. Within this app, some tables are configured out-of-the-box.

Do these tables, such as Contacts, count toward the 15 additional table quota, or are they 15 on top of the preconfigured tables?

BizApps Benefit -D365 Finance for IUR qualifies as base for an attach license?

In this case, we have 100 D365 Finance for IUR licenses through the benefits package. Would they qualify as the base license for SCM Attach licenses?

BTC 3 enrollment eligibility

Hello,

a company wants to join Bridge to the Cloud 3 next year.
They are starting with 40 users and then scaling up to 120 users after migration.

For the migration phase, they want to book 10 CSP users before joining the promotion.

How should the following passage from the FAQ be interpreted?
Are 10 users compliant for the preliminary project because they are scaling up to 120 users, or only 4 because they are only booking 40 licenses at the start of the promotion?

Q3:
Can customers who licensed a small quantity of Dynamics 365 online licenses for testing enroll in this promotion?
A: Use of a free trial offer (prior to BTC3 enrollment) does not impact eligibility for this BTC3 promotion.
Although customers with prior paid online licenses of the same product are normally ineligible for this promotion, as an exception, such customers are not excluded if their peak number of paid Dynamics 365 online full users to date does not exceed 10% of the number of full users that will be licensed at BTC3 enrollment.

Cannot sync Country when connecting greenfields D365 BC <-> Dataverse (and onto D365 Sales)

Hey, sorry for the very newbie question, but everyone has to start somewhere!

I get this cryptic incantation when trying to connect an essentially greenfields D365 BC (a small bit of progress through assisted setup) and a similarly vanilla D365 Sales instance, using the very latest updates on 2025 wave 2 (like I've applied this weeks coming update and any and all of the background app updates etc afaik is totally up-to-date at 28 Sep 2025 - maybe this is new and because we're living bleeding edge, may possibly be a heads up for someone out there, I really dont know.

Cannot sync Country when connecting greenfields D365 BC <-> Dataverse (and onto D365 Sales) - Business Process Error: Choice member name to[o] long. dyn365bc_countryregionaddressformat_v2_0.City_x002B_County_x002B_Post_x0020_Code_x0020__x0028_no_x0020_commax0029

When performing the Dataverse connection and trying to enable all of the available fields, the above error message appears, and no matter what the dropdown is set to, the choice in the error doesn't seem to change, in PowerApps, in Choices, is no entries for 'dyn365bc_country' (but plenty of others), has been setting up for a day and a half half sync'ed, country not published nor trying, but seemingly leaving some of the rest in limbo.

I asked CoPilot, ChatGPT et al and poked around without coming up with anything, didnt pass the google test, thought maybe an MS Call, but we try not to take the mickey and at least try first

Licensing a Dataverse environment for external users

Looking for some advice and opinions please.

This is for a standalone Dataverse environment. Not Dynamics 365, or Power Apps, or Power Pages.

The question is about using a Dataverse environment with the native Dataverse web APIs, where a portal is developed (not Power Pages) that allows the external users to interface (read/write) data.

My opinion is that because this is not Dynamics 365 and Power Pages are not being utilised to facilitate the access then there is no requirement for user (D365, Power App, or Power Pages capacity) licensing. I would still need Dataverse capacity licenses, but that is all.

Appreciate any thought and insights.

Anyone have the information on Business Central pricing?

We were expecting to find the new local pricing of D365BC in the CSP preview price list of October, 2025, but there was no BC SKUs in the list.

I searched for the information if the price change was postponed or cancelled but can't find any.

What I can find is only the blog and the PartnerDeck/FAQ in PartnerHub announced in May, and no news since then.

The local CSP support team even did not know about the price change of D365BC.

Since we have several customers whose renewals are on October 1, we need to work on quotations asap.

This is why, please allow me to submit this post while I am waiting for update from our PDM.

Or is there a limit to the number of concurrent connections?

2. All the users who only refer to digital signage are required to have a license for Dataverse?

3. Is it allowed to share one account between the users who execute Apps?

Can users of the app share a single account?

4. Do you know any case studies that using campus apps projected on digital signage?

Copilot inclusion in Partner Launch benefits

Looking at https://partner.microsoft.com/en-us/partnership/partner-benefits-packages-benefits#tab-1 it says that Partner Launch benefits include "Microsoft 365 Business Premium - includes Copilot". I took this to mean I didn't need to buy Copilot separately to work in 365 Apps like Word. However, on trying to use it this way, it seems that the Copilot referred to here is just Copilot chat with no integration with Word, SharePoint, etc. which is pretty much available for free anyway.

I raised a ticket with Partner Support (2507150010000100) and they said that Copilot functionality within 365 apps is not included.

Even Copilot chat itself gives confused answers. When I ask it "Explain the Copilot inclusions (if any) in Microsoft Partner Launch. Does it include Copilot to generate content in Microsoft Word?" It says:

Yes, the Microsoft Partner Launch includes Copilot capabilities, and Copilot is available for generating content in Microsoft Word.

Here’s a breakdown of the key inclusions:
✅ Copilot in Microsoft Word

Microsoft Copilot is now integrated into Word for both consumer and commercial users. It can:

Generate polished documents from prompts (e.g., recipes, reports, letters).

Assist with rewriting, summarizing, and formatting.

Help brainstorm and structure content based on user input

I suggest that Microsoft clarifies what "Microsoft 365 ... includes Copilot" means on pages like the linked one above to avoid others being confused like me (and Copilot chat!)

Partner Registration Penalty Box

I'm trying to register as a partner but getting an error stating "Microsoft runs on trust. We engage in a rigorous set of evaluation and certification processes; as a result your request was blocked. If you require further information please reach out to Microsoft support with reference number: XXXXXXX"

The problem is I can't get into the Partner Portal, as I'm not yet a partner, to raise said support request. I've tried to request resolution through Office 365 portal, hoping they'd facilitate contact with partner support but they seem to be confused as to how to facilitate the connection.

I have no clue why I'm getting this error as I use the DUNS lookup to provide company information. I've also entered it in by hand. Would love to become a Microsoft partner with my venture but need some support to overcome this "penalty box"

Anyone have ideas?

CSP potential customer on MCA multitant/ shareholding

We have a request where a customer would like to implement Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations on a multi-tenant basis. However, there are now the challenges that the customer wants to map several holdings of his company network in his productive environments. Is this a license violation if the customer includes company holdings from his company network, as shown in the diagram?

In my opinion, it is clear from the MCA that the customer cannot license company A in his tenant under CSP in the case of minority shareholdings. Is this correct?

AS employees of companies B and C provide services for company A, the customer would like a one- tenant solution

Is it possible to reach an agreement with Microsoft for this company construct without concluding an EA?

Downgrade license for business central 21

We have a client who requires our vertical developed in C/AL code. We are currently in the process of migrating our development. However, we need to be able to downgrade from version 25 of the software our client has purchased to version 21 of Business Central on-premises in order to obtain the .flf license. We understand that the updated licensing policies only allow downgrading from two previous versions, but the flf licenses have been retired, and the latest version that contains them is 21. What can we do in this case to authorize a downgrade?
As an additional note, our client's license is perpetual.

We are migrating a customer from Business Central 21 on premise to Business Central SaaS. They currently have 1,100 users and a database that is roughly 1TB (When migrate to SaaS it is roughly 450GB). They are concerned by Microsoft documentation and various links from third parties that say best performance is 300 users (How many users can Business Central support?) and (Service scalability for Business Central online - Business Central | Microsoft Learn).

Is there a set limit that affects performance of the infrastructure?

Necessity of Order Lines Licenses

A customer would like to connect an external third party warehouse management system to Finance & Supply Chain. This system accesses the Sales Order Line.
Is the Operations - Order Line license necessary for this?
The customer argues that the “Users of WMS” could also be equipped with D365 licenses and would then be licensed.
