M365 account automatically drops from Edge sync on iPhone (works on iPad)
I'm experiencing a critical sync issue with Microsoft Edge on iOS where my primary M365 account will not remain signed in for sync. The Problem: When I attempt to sync settings, my most important M365 account does not appear in the list of available accounts I can manually "add another account" and successfully authenticate The account briefly appears in the sync settings Within a few minutes, it silently disappears and Edge reverts to a default profile No error messages are shown - it just vanishes What Makes This Unusual: The SAME account works perfectly in Edge on my iPad (same iOS version 18.0.1) The account works fine in other Microsoft apps on the iPhone (Outlook, OneDrive) I am the M365 administrator for this account - there are no restrictions, conditional access policies, or authentication blocks The account does NOT appear in Azure AD sign-in logs when this happens, suggesting it's using iOS authentication broker Troubleshooting Already Attempted: Completely uninstalled and reinstalled Edge multiple times Cleared all browsing data, cookies, and cache Signed out of Apple ID and back in (to reset iOS keychain) Removed iPhone device registration from Azure AD and re-registered Re-authenticated through OneDrive using Passkey (temporarily worked, then reverted) Cleared Safari website data for all Microsoft domains Reset network settings Signed out of all Microsoft apps and signed back in Restarted iPhone multiple times Device Information: iPhone model: iPhone 15 Pro Max iOS version: 26.0.1 Edge version: 142.0.3595.53 iPad (where it WORKS): iOS 26.0.1, same Edge version Expected Behavior: The M365 account should remain signed in for sync, just as it does on my iPad. Actual Behavior: Account drops after a few minutes with no error message, reverting to default profile. This appears to be a device-specific authentication broker issue between Edge and iOS on this particular iPhone. Please investigate why Edge cannot maintain the authentication session on this device when the same account works on my iPad.6Views0likes0Comments- 9Views0likes0Comments
MS Edge 142.0.3595.65 does not start with anything else but msedge.exe
This is to be considered a critical bug with Microsoft Edge Version 142.0.3595.65, a change in behavior not seen in the prior Version 142.0.3595.53. External integrations with Microsoft Edge browser are broken since Microsoft Edge Version 142.0.3595.65. This latest version is more strict to the actual command on how it gets launched. 1. Open a Command Prompt 2. C:\Users\myuser> PATH=C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application;%PATH% 3. C:\Users\myuser> msedge -> MS Edge does *NOT* launched 4. C:\Users\myuser> msedge.exe -> MS Edge DOES launch Others have observed the same with this latest version of Microsoft Edge: https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/1or1h9k/msedgeexe_will_not_start_unless_entire_executable/ The command to launch Microsoft Edge MUST be msedge.exe. It cannot be just 'msedge' as it terminates with Exit Status: 13. This causes significant impact to business critical applications that make use of Microsoft Edge.26Views0likes0CommentsGhost Profiles Persist in Edge Profile Switcher Despite Cleanup
I've submitted a detailed Feedback Hub report documenting persistent ghost profiles in Edge’s profile switcher. These profiles remain visible despite full local and registry cleanup, and there’s no user-facing way to remove them. The issue affects profile integrity, sync behaviour, and UI clarity. It’s reproducible and has no current resolution. Here’s the link to my Feedback Hub submission: https://aka.ms/AAykvpv If you’ve experienced this issue, please upvote or share your observations. Problem started a few days ago. My cursor now changes whenever to the circle with arrows. Have read multiple forums with suggestions to fix and none work for me. I'm using Windows 11 on a new HP all-in-one desktop. Not sure why this just started happening. I can temporarily go back to the regular cursor by clicking down on the wheel of my mouse, but then it switches back. Very irritating! Can someone please assist?20Views0likes0CommentsAbility to Manager or Delete single autocomplete form data in Edge browser (new for 2025)
Someone has asked exactly this question before, in 2023, asking if the feature could be added, when maybe the feature already existed and the OP didn't know. Three months after the post, the OP wrote that they'd found the method and marked it as solved. It involved a few simple key strokes. See here https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/discussions/edgeinsiderdiscussions/ability-to-manager-or-delete-single-autocomplete-form-data-in-edge-browser-/3984284 This old post has attracted a few extra comments in the time since it was marked as solved, as the method described has been removed in more recent builds of Edge. I find the removal of this method frustrating, and I believe it invites security issues. For example, more than once, I've accidentally put a password in a username box. Now when I visit the site and try to log in, it shows my password in plain text on screen. Users have to search through autocomplete data to correct it, instead of being able to resolve the issue with one click (as I believe it is in Chrome) or the old Edge method of arrowing down to the suggestion and pressing delete while holding shift. Please could this feature be brought back in a future Edge build? Because I think it is a valuable component of old Edge, and I miss its ease of use very much, the sooner the better please.7Views0likes0CommentsDolby stereo audio playback failure on Windows 10 since Edge 141
Hi there, I'd like to report a regression I recently discovered: Dolby Stereo is failing to play in Edge, but Dolby 5.1 channel doesn't experience this issue. The issue can be reproduced using AC3 audio generated by FF.mpeg. Run the following FF.mpeg command to encode a short AC3 stereo audio clip containing noise into an MP4 file. Drag and drop the file into Edge; you'll observe playback failure, and you can also find the failure log in edge://media-internals/. ff mpeg -f lavfi -i anoisesrc -c:a ac3 -ac 2 -y 2ch.mp4 Changing the encoding channel in the FF.mpeg command -ac to 6 (5.1) will allow the audio to be played in Edge. ff mpeg -f lavfi -i anoisesrc -c:a ac3 -ac 6 -y 6ch.mp4 The same is true for EAC3 audio. Just need to change the -c:a parameter to eac3. For more contexts, I'm not on a fresh installation of Windows 11. I'm still on Windows 10, so https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/medfound/dolby-audio-decoder is still available. I'm currently on 142.0.3595.53 (stable). I've also tested 144.0.3658.0 (canary), but the issue persists. Please let me know if you need more information. Thanks in advance.31Views0likes0CommentsExtended channel not working for Edge 142
We have been running the extended channel for a long time, and as far as I can tell, everything on our end looks to be configured correctly. But when checking for updates, Edge is saying that we're up-to-date with 140.0.3485.130. Clearly we should be getting updated to 142.0.3595.53. Is anyone else using extended channel experiencing the same issue?39Views0likes2CommentsIs Edge Copilot susceptible to Prompt Injection Attack?
I am getting lots of negative vibe when reading about OpenAI's Altas browser. But what about Edge browser? Let's say if you have Copilot in Edge turned on with Page Content allowed. You asked the Copilot to summerise the page you are browsing and the page has hidden text to initiate a prompt injection attack. Is it safe to say that as long as Copilot does not have control over your browsing or desktop, the damage is limited. The worst thing it could happen is the change of AI behaviour, meaning the response returned from your question may not be what you asked for. There is zero DLP risk, right?53Views0likes1CommentStolen session token from Edge
We can steal the session token from Edge using tools like Burp Suite or Fiddler to intercept proxy traffic on the mobile phone, even when the Edge is MAM protected by Intune. This makes the Edge browser unsafe to use for Enterprise Applications on personal mobile. Recently I discovered that the https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/conditional-access/concept-token-protection in Conditional Access Policy. However it is only available for Windows. I am wondering if anyone knows when it would become available for mobile on Entra roadmap. Also, if you know any Edge configuration, I could use to stop Token Theft, please let me know! Thank you everyone.83Views0likes1CommentDuplicating windows regression with 143.0.3638.1
Has anyone else ran into this issue lately in 143.0.3638.1 where merely clicking links (e.g, links from Windows 11 applications) spawns duplicate windows of all your existing tabs in addition to the new tab (rather than re-using the existing window?) Windows 11 25H2 143.0.3638.1 Example: Open Settings in Windows 11, Windows Update, click the Learn More link. If it doesn't work the first time, it will happen on the second. A duplicate second window open with all your tabs in Edge (minus pinned tabs). What a weird regression.104Views0likes3CommentsEdge Dev CreateProcess bug
I'm using Edge Dev Version 143.0.3638.1 (Official build) dev (64-bit) downloaded from https://msedge.sf.dl.delivery.mp.microsoft.com/filestreamingservice/files/3b9b41d3-7038-420a-bb07-66fe54926f0f/MicrosoftEdgeDevEnterpriseX64.msi Opening a new Edge instance by using the code: BOOL bRet = ::CreateProcess((LPCTSTR)L"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Microsoft\\Edge Dev\\Application\\msedge.exe", (LPWSTR)L" --new-window www.bing.com", NULL, NULL, FALSE, CREATE_DEFAULT_ERROR_MODE, NULL, NULL, &si, &pi); is no longer working. I can see the process starting and then terminating quickly. It works though when using Edge Version 141.0.3537.99 (Official build) (64-bit). Is this the correct place to report & track the bug?17Views0likes0CommentsAre there any fix for hardware acceleration issues?
I am no longer using Edge because on Windows there are some issues that appear to be related to hardware acceleration, bugging what the browser renders, and have to resize it's window to fix. It happens on specific websites and mostly while gaming. On MacOS M1/M4 doesn't happens. On iOS 18/26 there were some issues related to scrolling on some websites (I think related to ads) . To fix, have to go back or close the tab. I really like Edge, but these issues made me migrate to Firefox (no issues), using only Edge on the business computer.. Will there be a fix for chromium based applications or by Edge it self some day?56Views1like2CommentsMS Edge on Android has a bottom address bar glitch
When the address bar is moved to the bottom, there's a strange gap present between the bar itself and the omnibox (I guess that's what it's called). Also, when bottom bar placement is selected, the search suggestions appear in reversed order - best suggestions should be displayed at the end of the list, instead they are shown at the top and the list has to be scrolled through. Dear community members, We use Intune managed computer and Zscaler that delivers DNS Search Domain. When user type a https://go/links in Edge browser, it automatically appends the FQDN to the address bar to become https://go.mycompanydomain.com/links. It is a quite common practice for Enterprise to provide convenience to access internal shortened URLs. With Intune managed mobile (also has Zscaler), can we achieve the same goal for Edge mobile? For the mobile use case, it is less of typing the go links directly in the browser. Because there are a lot of go links shared in Email and Chats from communications and newsletters, when user click them in Outlook or Teams on the phone, it will open in Edge. I am hoping when Edge opens these links, it automatically appends the search domain like on computers. I have looked up all Intune device and Edge documentation, chatted with three different LLMs, couldn't figure out a solution. All ideas are welcome! Thanks. Best regards,Solved97Views0likes1Comment
