Background: I want to use Zotero, a citation manager, on Word but it uses macros. I get an error message every time I open Word saying VBA wasn't installed at the time I downloaded Office. Image of the error message screen shotted below. I have tried a number of different things: Macros are enabled in the trust centre VBA are enabled in the trust centre I have ran rapid and online repair on Office on the control panel I have attempted 'change' office on my control panel to access the 'expand/add features' with the hopes of getting VBA but this does not appear as an option for me. When I select 'change' in the Control Panel the follow pop up appears: My current impression is that I must download VBA to be able to use VBA. I appreciate that VBA is supposed to automatically download with Office but this does not seem to have happened in my case. Please advise on what I should do next. Thanks in advance.19Views0likes1CommentHow to add a 'Go to Top of Document' link to each page of a Word doc
Hi All, I am trying to add a 'Go to Top of Document' link to each page of a very large Word document. Preferably I would like it in the footer area. When I add a link to a bookmark in the footer area you can see the link but it is not clickable. The word document will mostly be read from different mobile devices like iPhone's and Android mobile phones so there needs to be a link on each page at the bottom. I am using the latest version of MS Office (Office 365 ProPlus desktop application). MS Word is basically the same as Word 2016. I hope you can help Alan118KViews3likes6CommentsUnable to @ mention external collaborators in comments within Office online files
Is anyone aware of whether Microsoft will someday enable the ability to @ mention users who do not belong to the M365 tenant within comments in Office online files? I've attached a screenshot of what this looks like in a Word Online file in OneDrive. There are a number of Microsoft feedback posts about this, but it really feels like an unnecessary gap in functionality. Anyone have any insights on roadmap?36Views0likes0CommentsWord fillable forms that are mobile device compatible
I can't find any recent info on how to make word fillable forms compatible for mobile devices (so they can be completed on mobile phone). I've set up forms, and they are restricted for fillable entry only. They send via email and work on PC, but on a mobile, if opened through mobile word app, you can select but not input anything. If this worked if would save so many issues for me, but I've no idea if or how it can be done. I have read some stuff on Infopath, but this is a little beyond me. Did try it but it would not import my word fillable template. Not really keen to redesign my many forms, if I don't need to and would rather reduce number of apps/add ons if possible. Any advice?2.3KViews1like2CommentsWord Writing Problem
Hello, I am experiencing a problem with the web version of Microsoft Word on my Android phone and tablet. For about a week, I have noticed issues when typing in Word. After typing something and pressing the Enter key, the text I wrote sometimes disappears. In some cases, even though I press Enter, the cursor does not move to the next line and the words start overlapping each other. This issue occurs both when I use the on-screen keyboard and when I use a physical keyboard. I have tried several different browsers and devices, but the problem still persists. I also tested it with a different Microsoft account and the same issue occurred. What could be causing this problem, and how can I fix it?56Views0likes3CommentsHow to separate non-indented number points from indented number points?
I'll explain. I have a document that's about fifty pages in length, with about 500 numbered points in total. The list randomly is dispersed going down, with some numbered points having no indentation while some have it (text down and to the right, down to the right and so on). It looks like this: Example 1 (Actual Layout): This Is An Example How The Document Is Listed Trying to sift through it all and sort the list manually is proving to be too time consuming. Trying to sort the lists alphabetically left all the indented text out of order with no way to figure out what numbered point it belonged to what. It looked something like this: Example 2 (Alphabetized Layout): An Document Example How Is Is Listed Of The This Is there any way to have it so word can separate Example 1's points, 1, 4, 5, 6, and 7 and points 2 and 3 away from each other, creating two separate lists with all the indented numbered points all corresponding to the correct main indented point? Like this: Example Three (Desired Layout): This Is The Document Is Listed Is An Example How Thanks. Sorry for the length.143Views1like4CommentsWord Web Version Text disappears after closing
I wrote text in a document, and it appeared to save successfully (indicated by the "Saved" icon). However, after closing the tab and reopening the document, the text had disappeared. In its place are blank spaces that preserve the exact formatting of the original text—for example, if the original text had a paragraph structure, the blank spaces repeat the same pattern. The text is no longer accessible. I've attempted to: Copy the disappeared text to another document or notepad Select it Change the text color However, no text appears in any of these actions—only the blank spaces are visible and selectable.118Views0likes1CommentSpellcheck problem
