I've scoured: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/purview/retention-cmdlets and the Unified Audit Log (https://www.meetingroom365.com/blog/search-unifiedauditlog-powershell/, https://theitbros.com/query-microsoft-365-audit-logs-using-powershell/#penci-Search_the_SharePoint_Online_Audit_Log) to see if I can come up with a method to obtain some statistics regarding how many files and space (storage) has been freed up with the use of retention policies being enabled. I'm drawing a blank. In an ideal world, I'd like know how many files have been deleted by the system (the system enforcing a 5 Year from last modified Date and Delete Policy) for the last year or 6 month intervals. If possible the corresponding volume of storage space recovered from these deletions. Any ideas?131Views0likes2CommentsSharepoint Llibrary to more than 1,000 devices
Hi All, I've been messing around with Sharepoint Libraries, and I have deployed SharePoint for small environments. Will the SharePoint Sync be a good option for large library sets, and more then 1000 deices? I want to ensure a good sync experience to the end users and Im worry about the large library sets.134Views0likes0CommentsUnable to Remove-SPOUser from personal sharepoints properly
Hello, I had to add a global administrator account literally on every single personal sharepoint, as Site Collection Administrators, to delete a user from each personal sharepoint, with a certain email but associated with a old sharepoint ID (the user was re-added to our Office 365 and he had issues when other were sharing links from personal sharepoint to him, access denied even with the right email, because he have now other sharepoint ID). Now I want to remove that global administrator account from every personal sharepoint (using: Remove-SPOUser) , using a global administrator account A to remove the global administrator account B that I've added everywhere (Account B was added with Account A login with: Set-SPOUser)(otherwise will get: Remove-SPOUser : A user may not remove his or her own account from a site collection.), but cannot do that because, seems like I need to use an account that is already a Site Collection Administrator, to perform this action, so I am unable to leave just the Primary Site Collection Administrator (the own user). Over web sharepoint admin center, I can remove and add everyone using Account A, even remove Account A from Site Collection Administrators, it simply doesn't work in the same way when connected over Connect-SPOService. Please advise how can I remove that Account B, and leave only the Primary Site Collection Administrator as Site Collection Administrator?634Views0likes1CommentUser cannot access sharepoint at all
Hello everyone, User have a Office 365 Basic license, with all licenses included (nothing being excluded), but the user cannot accesse sharepoint as a all, and I cannot even find him on sharepoint admin panel. User account is active, can see from Office 365 and Azure AD as well, but still nothing, from sharepoint side it's like that user account doesnt exist at all in Azure AD. Have tried already to move his user profile from India to Malta, remove and re-assign Office 365 Basic license but no changes. Anyone here knows how to fix this?285Views0likes1CommentLooking to confirm effects of "Sign out inactive users" setting in Sharepoint admin center
Hi. I'm a MS global admin for my company (and quite new to it). Our security center is recommending enabling "Idle session sign-out" in the Sharepoint admin center (setting http://yourcompanynamehere-admin.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/online/AdminHome.aspx#/accessControl/IdleSession, documentation https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/sign-out-inactive-users?WT.mc_id=365AdminCSH_spo) The documentation says the article is for "admins wanting to control user access to SharePoint and OneDrive (business) data on unmanaged devices". What about Windows devices that are managed in Intune, does it not affect them? (we only allow Intune-managed company-purchased computers to access 365 resources) Before I enable it, I want to confirm this setting only applies to the web-app/browser versions Sharepoint and OneDrive, that it doesn't cause the desktop version of OneDrive to sign out. Also, if someone is using the browser version of OneDrive and it does sign out, will it affect other people accessing shared files in said OneDrive?783Views0likes2CommentsCannot create Information Barrier Policy
Hi, I have created two segments within Information Barriers in Microsoft Purview. I have then tried to create a Policy that blocks one segment from the other using both the UI and PowerShell, but I get the same error every time. "Could not run the command New-InformationBarrierPolicy. Cause of the problem: The parameter(s) ModerationAllowed of the cmdlet New-ExoInformationBarrierPolicy is not allowed for the app 00000007-0000-0ff1-ce00-000000000000" Am I missing something? Is anyone else seeing this, or is it just me? Right now, I can create many policies at all.Solved1.7KViews0likes4CommentsError after turning off Delve
Apologies if this is the wrong discussion area however with the relitively low use and the impending deprecation of Delve in December we have decided to turn it off. Now from reading the admin page about turning delve off I was under the impression all of the functionality like frequent sites and other forms of discovery were now de-linked in the back end and taken up by 'Item Insights'. However after we turned it off there's now an error message on our sharepoint home page saying that some functionality can't be seen as OfficeGraph is turned off. Is there anyway to have Delve, the app, turned off but still have things like frequent sites visible in sharepoint and profile cards etc? Dear Team, how do I access this below user one drive. USER account has been deleted from the Active Directory. Their OneDrive for Business will be preserved for 300 days. You're the temporary owner of all documents saved to their OneDrive for Business. If you would like to save content beyond the 300 day retention period, you can copy important documents to another location. You can also contact your administrator to reassign ownership to another OneDrive for Business owner. After 300 days, OneDrive for Business will be permanently deleted. Go to USER OneDrive for Business at Regards Niket R1.8KViews0likes4Comments
