https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams/moving-teams-folder-locations-on-sharepoint/m-p/3040665 Please briefly read above before asking questions or I'll flag you for irrelevancy. I didn't want to resurrect a dead thread that may have changed in the last two years. Is it possible to configure the default location for team channel folders to be created within a site? My digging thus far suggests that there have been no changes toward this being possible in the last two years, and that the recommendation from above is still the best option to the community. Workaround being: that one create a "sister" site for the purpose of containing the channel folders separate from the primary document library, then creating team app links that thread through the channels to link back to the primary parent site. Confirmation please?Solved13KViews1like6CommentsTeams automatically creating folders in the group Sharepoint
Hello, I'm trying to spin up Teams buy have come across a hiccup. Teams automatically is creating a folder with the channel name in the Sharepoint site main directory of our group. I do not want it to do this. I would like it create these folders and save the files in a specific directory. How can I do this instead?Solved11KViews2likes4CommentsSorting files in Teams
As stated in at least one other post on this forum which was originally posted in 2017(!!!!!) it is still not fixed by Microsoft! If you have a Teams instance you get an office365 connected group, Sharepoint site and a document library, etc. Within our large organization it is a real nuisance that although files are sorted alphabetically in the connected SharePoint library Teams just keeps on sorting the docs on the last modified date. This just doesn’t makes sense! In some use cases people benefit from the sorting on last modified date but this is a contextual thing. Let’s say I am working on a document and after that I want to sent a mail and attach a document to that mail you can easily make the assumption that I want to be able to quickly share the file I just worked on... Fine... But when accessing an (extensive) document library this isn’t the case. People are just looking for a certain document and at that moment the default last modified sorting option makes that navigation quite a nuisance!! A team should be capable of sorting their document library in any way they find most helpful! Please fix this! I just can’t understand why this minor adjustment isn’t fixed already since it has beenmode three years when it was reported here...10KViews0likes3CommentsRecording Failed to Upload to SharePoint
Hi there, I have been recording files since the first day of my class. However, today, after stopping the recording, it shows 'recording failed to upload' prior to some AMS Document Generation error. I come from a non CS background and I don't know how to fix this. I did not find the recording even on SharePoint. And actually, while trying to share a totally unrelated file on SharePoint, even there it says 'Something went wrong'. It was my last class today and the lecture is extremely urgent to get. Please help. Earnest request. Pernille-Eskebo @sharepoint9.9KViews3likes23CommentsRestrict user group from viewing public teams
My org is in the middle of migrating from Dropbox to SharePoint, with project teams accessing SharePoint primarily via MS Teams. We are making most of our Teams public so that our users can easily discover and use them, however there is a large pool of contractors who have O365 accounts that I would like to restrict from discovering or joining these teams. The main concern is their ability to view files in SharePoint, rather than conversations, etc in Teams. Is anybody aware of a way in O365 to restrict a specific user group from joining or viewing public Teams or SharePoint sites?8.9KViews1like4CommentsDocument Library tab: Cannot upload or drag&drop files (Bug)
Hi, I have been running in circles with support and I am not getting anywhere, i need to raise my concern about a bug in MS Teams which causes your uploaded sharepoint files to be corrupt, and lose all contents. I have reproduced this in 3 different tenants now, for multiple users and multiple computers, it absolutely is a bug. The bug exists int he "document library" tab within a team and the repro steps are simple: create a new or use an existing team. add the "document library" app for any sharepoint library in the teams client (web or desktop) drag&drop a file into this library. teams gives an error: failed to upload file, "Please check if the site is available....." the site is available, of course, you can still upload files into sharepoint directly. the file which failed to upload be seen in sharepoint but IS CORRUPT AND CANNOT BE OPENED I raised this with support but as usual it is not going anywhere. they want to have a 3 hour call collecting HAR files and fiddler logs etc, and want to spend the next few weeks asking me about my laptop- no thanks. Also raised it in uservoice but I doubt it will get any attention: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/908686-bug-reports/suggestions/41580901-document-library-tab-cannot-upload-or-drag-drop-f If we as users find a bug (A bad 1... which affects all tenants and causes our files to become corrupt..... for example) HOW can we escalate these effectively? this is hopelessSolved8.9KViews0likes18CommentsTeams - how to prevent students download and remove teams meeting record in SharePoint
Hi everybody, I have a problem with Teams. When I, as a teacher, record a meeting, I can see the recording in the conversation. I can open it in SharePoint and I can remove or download it. Are there any admin options to prevent the students from downloading and deleting the recording? Thx in advance.8.1KViews1like3CommentsDoes granting a user Owner role on Office 365 group have any impact on sharepoint site's permission
I have created a new MS Teams using Office 365 admin center site, which created, the following:- 1. sharepoint modern site. 2. Office 365 group.. the Office 365 group will be added to the Member sharepoint group. But my question is, will granting a user Owner role instead of Member inside MS-Teams/Office-365-Group grant the user additional permission on the SharePoint site's list and libraries? As today i got a weird scenario as follow:- 1. inside my sharepoint site, i moved the Office 365 group to be inside the sharepoint visitors group instead of the sharepoint members group. so members and owner inside office 365 group will only have read permission on the sharepoint site. 2. then i assign the user an Owner role on office 365, where this user got Full Control permission on sharepoint!! 3. now i re-assign the user a Member role inside Office 365, and then re-assign him Owner again >> after that i checked his permission on the sharepoint site, where i got that the user only have Read. which sound more realistic. but my question is, if granting a user Owner role instead of Members role inside Office-365-group can by any chance grant the user additional permission to the sharepoint site's lists/libraries such as the documents library and the pages library?7.8KViews0likes14Comments
