screen sharing
28 TopicsHow can I improve the frame rate from screen share?
We use teams a lot at my workplace to screen share. We usually show code, diagrams or other sort of static content. The framerate on these screen shares are usually pretty low, at 2fps. In the long run this gives me a headache trying to follow the presenter's mouse cursor, or diagrams when it gets scrolled around. This is happening across the board, with great laptops and connections. I believed the framerate is getting capped by teams itself. Can this be changed?Solved56KViews0likes9CommentsCalls being placed on hold after sharing screen
Just go our first CCX device for testing and I just tried to test a screen sharing while on an audio only call on the CCX. I have Windows 10 with Teams along with a CCX 500 phone. My colleague has Windows 10 and the Teams client, and a headset. I was talking to him via the CCX and he tried to share screens with me, on his end no errors, on my end absolutely nothing happened. Then I tried to share my screen with him from my computer and it put our audio call on the CCX immediately on hold, on the computer it had the small "Lets talk" button in the bottom right, if you click that still no audio. Of note even with a VVX device and Teams, we had similar behavior of having the call put on hold. My hope was getting a CCX device would have solved this issue. In Skype this worked without issue.Solved42KViews2likes15CommentsMS Teams stealing the focus when presenter switches into/out-of screen sharing...
I am using Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.11161 (64-bit). It was last updated on 4/22/2021. Ever since the latest release, it has been stealing the focus from other applications. It does this consistently whenever I am on a video call and one of the other participants switches into (or out of) screen-sharing mode. By "stealing focus" I am specifically saying that if I am focused on any other application on either of my 2 screens, and the other person on the call switches into or out of screen-share on their machine, then my local MS-Teams app window forcibly comes to the top/foreground window and grabs the focus away from whatever other window/app I was in. It forces me to alt-tab back to that application to continue. And before you ask: Yes, I reported this via the "Report a Problem" link in the application as well. I just am so frustrated by this that I felt the need to report it here too, maybe to see just how many others are experiencing this behavior as well. MS Teams: PLEASE FIX THIS HORRIFIC BEHAVIOR! Sincerely, Rich LarsonSolved25KViews13likes31CommentsAll or multiple participants sharing their screens
I was wondering if there is an option (or if one is under development) allowing all or multiple participants to share their screens. This is a useful use case for training, where students are carrying out some tasks (e.g. on a specific application) and a supervisor can check what they are doing or if they need help. Thanks.Solved25KViews6likes7CommentsHow do i enable screen sharing from the Teams desktop app?
I think I turned this off erroneously. I did change several settings recently in my Teams subscription, but somehow this setting got turned off, and I really need to turn it back on. How do I re-enable this in the desktop app? Please send instructions. It is working for me in both the web app, and in the Android app, so it is nothing to do with my account. It is specific to the desktop app. And it is disabled for me in the desktop app for all meetings - not just the ones I schedule, but for those scheduled by other people. Other folks can share their desktop in the same meetings, so it is definitely not meeting-specific. I am running version 1.5.00.17656, the 32-bit client, The last update was 7/6/22. The version I have is optimized for HD Citrix - I run the desktop app exclusively on a Citrix VM.24KViews0likes2CommentsTeams Screen/Desktop unable t sharing on macOS Catalina
Dear community, since a few days after the latest upgrade to macOS Catalina 10.15.1, there seems to be a problem with the screen/app/desktop sharing. On sharing a desktop, the Mac app in teams is always asking for permission to the Screen Recording in the Security & Privacy settings. However, as you can see in the screenshot, this option is already checked. Unchecking, restarting Teams, restarting the Mac didn't solve the issue. Is there someone who has the same experience, or even better, has a solution for it? Thanks in advance!22KViews0likes9CommentsUnable to share screen on MS Teams in Google Chrome 109.0.5414 on Ubuntu 22.10
Hello, I have not been able to share the screen (or other windows) like I used to share with MS Teams running inside Google Chrome 109.0.5414 on Ubuntu 22.10. The only thing I can share is other tabs inside Google Chrome. The same thing is happening inside Chromium 109.0.5414. The strange thing is that Google Chrome and Chromium display the following message: "Go to Security & Privacy > Screen Recording to give permission and start sharing." But I do not have these Security & Privacy Settings. I am not using macOS, where I know about these settings. On Linux, there are no such settings. Are there any other options on a Linux System to set to make sharing screens possible once more? Thanks in advance. Hi, I've used Teams for a few years and this is a new problem for me in the last 2 weeks. In Teams, if someone else shares their screen with a Powerpoint, I have very loud static noise so that I can't hear anything else and they can't hear me. I have to read captions/use chat. The noise stops as soon as they stop screen sharing. It's only when they share Powerpoint. If the same person, in the same meeting, same set up, swaps to sharing a PDF of that Powerpoint there's no problem. This has happened several times now - different meetings, different participants, different days, same problem. I've restarted etc. I updated to Monterey (12.6) after it started, but that didn't solve it. Any suggestions on what I should try next? UPDATED: In one case, it seems to happen when they share their powerpoint by selecting from the 'powerpoint live' list - it doesn't happen if they share by selecting the 'window'.15KViews2likes32CommentsMS Teams: Can't take control when screen is shared and control is allowed

Login to other computer to for testing Please kindly assist. Thanks. Tim11KViews0likes2CommentsMac screen recording problem: screen sharing not working while recording, works when not recording
EDIT: Might be powerpoint related issue and found a workaround! If I start the presentation before I share my screen, it works fine, but ifi I start screen sharing first and then start the presentation, it denies it. So basically, it's working, but in certain order. It's a bug. Everything is allowed in permissions and privacy, Hi, Using Teams Mac client and having odd issue. The screen sharing is enabled in privacy settings (also powerpoint etc.) and is working fine and sound BUT when the meeting is recorded, the screen sharing is denied due to security issues (gives out message indicating it's not safe).
