I've been using the new version of Outlook for around a year and a half without any issues. However, today I've noticed that I can no longer create Search Folders that filter emails by category. When I go through the process, I can name the Search Folder and choose the folder type without any problems. The issue occurs when I try to select the email categories. The category list appears, but clicking on a category doesn't actually select it. Because of this, I get the message "Select at least one category", even though I've clicked on one. This happens in both the desktop app and Outlook on the web, so it doesn't seem to be specific to my laptop. Is anyone else aware of this issue, and if so are there any workarounds?10Views0likes0CommentsShared Calendars No Longer Visible
For years, I've shared Outlook calendars between my Outlook accounts and with my husband's, without any issues. However, since mid-June the shared calendars have disappeared for no apparent reason. The sharing permissions are still in place, but the calendars are no longer visible or available to add on Android, in the Outlook desktop app, or on Outlook on the web. I've spent hours Googling and tried all the usual troubleshooting steps, but nothing has worked! As a workaround, I now have to invite all @outlook.com accounts to calendar events just so everyone can see them and avoid double bookings. Has anyone come across this before and found a fix that isn't one of the standard "how-to" suggestions? Note: these are personal paid Microsoft accounts.46Views0likes1CommentSuggestion to Improve Outlook Delay Delivery
Dear Microsoft Outlook Team, I have been using Outlook for a long time and I use the Delayed Delivery feature frequently. Honestly, I think it is one valuable features in Outlook, but it is also one of the features I trust the least. Many times I have wondered if my message was actually scheduled to be sent later or if it was sent immediately for some reason. I believe that this uncertainty could be reduced with a few small interface improvements, without changing the way Outlook works. My suggestion is to add: a Confirm Delay button after selecting a delivery date and time, a visible status such as Delay: Active/Not Active, so that the user immediately knows that delayed delivery has been successfully activated, a Scheduled: field that displays the exact delivery date and time, a Deactivate Delay button, which allows users to quickly disable delayed delivery, I have also created a test image example to better explain the idea and attached them to this message. As an Outlook user, I believe these small improvements would increase user confidence in the delayed delivery feature and help prevent accidental or premature delivery of emails. Thank you for taking the time to read my suggestion.Solved68Views0likes4CommentsNew Outlook: "Changing the ImapRemoteServerInfo is not allowed" after host migration
Hi everyone! I've migrated my domain/mailbox from one IMAP host to another in May. It cannot be added to New Outlook for Windows — fails instantly with INVALID_CREDENTIALS INTERACTION_REQUIRED, even when I deliberately enter a wrong password (so it's failing before authentication is even attempted). Using DevTools (olk.exe -devtools), the Network tab shows the real rejection from Microsoft's backend: Changing the ImapRemoteServerInfo is not allowed. Attempted to change it from imap.olddomain.sk to imap.newdomain.sk So New Outlook has a cloud-mailbox / connected-account shadow record for this address, pinned to the old host from a previous add attempt, and the backend refuses to update it. What I've confirmed: Webmail and a second mailbox on the same domain/host both work fine → not credentials, not the host. The account does not appear in Settings → Accounts (so I can't use "Remove from all devices" which worked on my first account). It's on no other device or client. App reset didn't help (record is server-side, not local). It's been ~7 weeks, so any 30-day inactivity purge hasn't cleared it How do I get this stuck cloud-mailbox / connected-account record purged when it isn't attached to any removable account? Is there a way to force it, or does this need Microsoft backend action?58Views0likes3CommentsNew Outlook: Calendar view cannot open modal dialogs (e.g. new event/settings) – Mail view works
I've been troubleshooting the above new issue (to me) with Copilot to produce the below summary. Hope this is helpful and you can advise and/or resolve ASAP! Thanks. --- We are experiencing a consistent issue in New Outlook for Windows, with similar reports from Outlook for Mac, where Calendar view fails to display modal dialogs. This affects: Creating new calendar events Editing or duplicating events Opening Settings When triggered from Calendar view, no dialog appears and the UI becomes unresponsive for that action. Note: Once calendar view 'breaks' Outlook, even switching back to mail view doesn't always work (incl. inability to close via usual X top right). Key behaviour ✅ Issue occurs only in Calendar view ✅ Same functionality works correctly from Mail view: New → Event opens and works Settings opens normally ✅ Outlook Web (PWA) and Teams Calendar work without issue ✅ Switching from Calendar → Mail immediately restores functionality Impact Users cannot effectively manage calendars using the desktop app (only view) Disrupts scheduling workflows Requires switching views or using other apps to complete basic actions Scope Multiple users affected Reproduced across: Windows (New Outlook) Mac (similar behaviour reported) Not device-specific Not account-specific Troubleshooting already attempted App repair/reset Full reinstall Restarting WebView2 processes Clearing local app data No resolution (only temporary, same as killing task and restarting app). Observed pattern This appears to be isolated to the Calendar view UI layer, specifically: Modal/dialog rendering fails only when invoked from the Calendar canvas The same dialogs work when invoked from Mail context Suspected cause Likely a regression in the Calendar canvas/modal framework in New Outlook (Monarch) affecting dialog rendering. This is consistent with previously observed Calendar-specific rendering issues in New Outlook (UI-layer defects limited to Calendar view rather than Exchange Online service). Request Confirm whether this is a known or emerging issue Provide workaround or mitigation guidance Advise if this is linked to a recent feature rollout / flighting Share ETA for fix if available Workaround (confirmed) Use Mail view → New → Event Use Outlook Web (PWA) or Teams Calendar Additional notes (optional) Issue appears tied to Calendar view state rather than service/backend Switching views consistently resets behaviour (albeit not consistently/long term) Suggest investigating Calendar modal rendering lifecycle87Views1like6CommentsWhy am i asked to enable location suddenly ? While opening emails from trusted sources ?
This started happening since last week.. Get a prompt to enable Location for mails received via trusted email addresses. Almost most of them give the prompt to enable location. No changes have been done to system or location settings. Edition: Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2 Outlook version: 1.2026.617.600131Views0likes2CommentsTeams Meeting Add-in Not Appearing in Outlook
The computer was rebuilt from scratch and reinstalled with a clean operating system. After the installation, all required Microsoft applications (Outlook, Teams, etc.) were installed and the user successfully signed in. However, the Teams Meeting add-in is not appearing in Outlook as expected. Within the Outlook Calendar/Appointment window, only the Skype Meeting option is visible, while the Teams Meeting option is completely missing. Checks Performed: New Microsoft Teams is installed and functioning properly. Outlook and Teams are both signed in with the user account. Outlook COM Add-ins have been checked. Disabled Items have been checked. Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office has been verified. Outlook updates have been checked. Microsoft Teams has been reinstalled. Outlook profile has been verified. Exchange mailbox is active and functioning correctly. Despite all the above checks, the Teams Meeting option is still not displayed in the Outlook Calendar/Appointment window, and only the Skype Meeting integration is available. Expected Behavior: The Teams Meeting button should be available within the Outlook Calendar/Appointment window, allowing users to create Teams meetings and automatically generate Teams meeting invitations. Request: Please why the Teams Meeting Add-in is not being loaded into Outlook and provide assistance in restoring the Teams Meeting functionality within the Outlook Calendar/Appointment interface. I have an Outlook web add-in (Office.js, MailApp) that works fine on Exchange Online mailboxes. But on a Gmail account added to classic Outlook for Windows via IMAP, the add-in never activates, as I understand it, web add-ins need an Exchange backend to activate against, which an IMAP account doesn't have. Is that correct? And if so, is a traditional COM add-in (VSTO) the only supported way to surface an add-in on these IMAP/POP mailboxes in classic Outlook, or is there a web-add-in path I'm missing?42Views0likes1CommentShared Outlook Calendar disappeared
An Outlook Calendar that my wife and I share has suddenly disappeared from my Outlook Calendar. It still shows on my wife's computer. We set this up a number of years ago, so I have no idea where or how to troubleshoot this. I do recall that we had to each create outlook.com email addresses so that we could access Microsoft Exchange. We are using the Classic version of Outlook. In case it's useful, here's the exact information from the Outlook About page: "Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2605 Build 16.0.20026.20168) 64-bit." Thanks to anyone who can help me solve this problem.78Views0likes2CommentsOutlook doesn't work for 4th IMAP email addy
Okay, so the title was probably badly worded. Ever since the new outlook, my 4th IMAP email address doesn't work - and it worked in the old outlook. I have 4 IMAPs and 2 gmails I check through Outlook, on two different computers. One is a brand new setup. The email address I am having problems with works fine with the exact same settings on my mobile app (not outlook) and it works fine if I add it to gmail. So it's definitely an outlook problem. Both computers keep redirecting me to sign in, as if it were a wrong password. It isn't. I've tried adding it the prompted way, and by clicking settings and signing in or managing it through there. I need other ideas. I can't seem to fix this.65Views0likes5Comments
