Outlook doesn't work for 4th IMAP email addy

Okay, so the title was probably badly worded.  Ever since the new outlook, my 4th IMAP email address doesn't work - and it worked in the old outlook.  I have 4 IMAPs and 2 gmails I check through Outlook, on two different computers.  One is a brand new setup.  The email address I am having problems with works fine with the exact same settings on my mobile app (not outlook) and it works fine if I add it to gmail. So it's definitely an outlook problem.  Both computers keep redirecting me to sign in, as if it were a wrong password. It isn't.  I've tried adding it the prompted way, and by clicking settings and signing in or managing it through there.

I need other ideas. I can't seem to fix this.

You can download and install Outlook from different websites, and I guess you can also uninstall it in Apps in Windows as well.

    https://microsoft-outlook.en.softonic.com/

You click on > Start>Microsoft Store then down to the left > Update and wait until all the Apps are updated and check again to be sure that nothing is missing.

Use Manual Setup: In Outlook, do not use the automatic email login. Navigate to File > Info > Add Account and choose Advanced options > Let me set up my account manually (or select Manual setup or additional server types)

Select IMAP: Check the box for IMAP.

Server Details: Enter the Incoming mail server (IMAP) and Outgoing mail server (SMTP) exactly as provided by your specific email host

Secure Ports & Authentication: Set Incoming (IMAP) port to 993 with SSL/TLS encryption. Set Outgoing (SMTP) port to 587 with STARTTLS or TLS encryption. Check "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"

App Passwords: If you have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled, you will need to generate a specific "App Password" on your email provider's security page (e.g., Google or Microsoft) and use it instead of your standard password

You can also Check >Control Panel>Programs>Turn Windows features on or off, if there is anything related.

  • It's hard to suggest anything directly from the information provided.

    Who is hosting this mailbox?
Do you perhaps have mulit-factor authentication enabled for this account? In that case, you may need to provide an app password instead of your regular password.

Thanks. It is my own domain, and one of my other email accounts is from the same domain and works. It is hosted with ionos. I don't have multi-factor on the problem account.

      • Try adding it manually through the mail app in the control panel in the profile, sometimes IMAP can be tricky using the auto setup when Outlook is open.
