27 TopicsViewing AIP Protected PDFs in SharePoint Online and Teams
Hey all, for a test case i'm currently deploying Sensitivity Labels to a select group of users. I'm labeling with the integrated sensitivity tool in Office applications and the AIP unified labeling client. This is currently being tested for user devices and on-premise fileserver use. However, I'm trying some stuff in Sharepoint (Online) Document Library with labeling. And what I noticed is that when I upload an AIP protected PDF document, (encryption + no external sharing (access only for users in organization) is that when I try to view it you get the standard message of "This is a protected document. You can view it using a supported PDF reader app" Which I find quite odd as you're authorized with your Microsoft Account in your SharePoint Online environment. (The same goes for Teams) My question is: Is it possible to view an AIP protected PDF in SharePoint/Teams? If so, how can this be achieved? (Without having to download the document and open it on your device with AIP Viewer or Acrobat reader / pro etc.)1.1KViews0likes0CommentsIntegration between SharePoint subsite and Microsoft Teams
Good day, I have created a subsite in my Team site. There is an icon next to the subsite name which reads "Go to the Microsoft Teams channel". When I click this icon, I receive the following msg: "We're still setting up the Microsoft Teams for this group". This has been the case for several days. The Team site is shown as a teams channel but the subsites are not showing. Any recommendations to resolve? Thank you in advance.Solved4.5KViews0likes2CommentsSharing Templates xltx, dotx via MS Teams and Sharepoint
We have created a team in Ms Teams whose primary purpose is to hold MS Office document type templates mainly Excel & Word. So, there is a channel in MS Teams where we upload the various templates (xltx, dotx files). We then use SharePoint to create hyperlinks to those files. This allows us to create applications where you can click on a hyperlink to access the template. It all works well except for one thing - when you click on the Sharepoint hyperlink it opens the template. I am having difficulty working out how to arrange it so that when you click on the link it spawns a new document. That is we want to replicate the same functionality as it would if you opened a template on your desktop. To access a template you first must open say Excel and then from within Excel open the document. So, I guess the issue is when you click on the hyperlink, SharePoint is creating a scenario where it assumes you have opened Excel already and therefore takes you into the template. For obvious reasons this is not what we want because it will result in users corrupting the xltx, dotx files.10KViews0likes9CommentsImporting SharePoint Classic View Microsoft List into MS Teams
Good Morning, We have a 'classic view' SharePoint Microsoft List built into our Microsoft Project Web App (PWA) system - the classic view cannot be changed due to how the system has been built, and the lists are part of individual 'project sites' within the overall PWA system. I have tried multiple ways to add this MS List to a tab in Microsoft Teams however I can't get this to work properly, I have tried using the website app and lists app and SharePoint app - the columns are formatted correctly and I can't work out why particularly data isn't working. Is there a better MS teams App to use for adding a SharePoint list to MS teams or is there some sort of incompatibility between SharePoint classic view and importing into MS teams? Thanks,1.2KViews0likes1CommentProfile Picture Sync to Teams?
Our organization has had issues for multiple years with profile pictures not syncing properly across all facets of the MS infrastructure. Sometimes pictures wouldn't show in SPO, other times they wouldn't show in other systems. We've been testing various places of upload and are continuing to see issues. When adding a profile picture from here (https://iewc-my.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/editprofile.aspx) we've seen varying results. Sometimes it syncs (nearly) immediately to all systems. In the first two test cases it synced immediately to every Office 365 system (SPO, teams, delve, Outlook etc.). However in my second two test cases it synced immediately to SPO and all other systems EXCEPT Teams. For one of the users where it wasn’t syncing to Teams, I uploaded the same profile picture to Teams and it synced across Teams. For the second test user I’m going to wait and see if it eventually syncs to Teams. However I've tried a 5th user with the same results - doesn't sync to Teams. We've uploaded user profile photos directly to Teams and they sync nearly everywhere EXCEPT SPO. Is the solution to upload in two places? Where should users be uploading profile photos so that they sync across all O365 apps? Thanks for any advice.17KViews1like3CommentsSharePoint site of private channel in Teams is not displayed SharePoint admin center
Hello, My company is in the process of SharePoint migration and Teams roll-out. In order to keep the number of Teams to the minimum we create private channels whenever possible. However I noticed that the SharePoint sites created as a result of these private channels are not listed in SharePoint admin center among active sites and therefore can't be set as a Hub sites e.g. or their activity can't be monitored. Does anyone know if there is any solution or work-around for this issues? ThanksSolved41KViews1like12CommentsValidation settings menu option missing in list

Hello! We’re experiencing some problems while setting up a Microsoft teams account for our company. We did set the permissions we wanted for each group (Owner, Member and Visitor) in Sharepoint, and now we would like to make sure that when we add a new user to the MS team and mark it as, say, “Guest”, the user is added automatically to the “Visitors” group in Sharepoint. Equivalently, the Members in a team should only have the permissions that are granted to the “Members” group in Sharepoint. Instead, it seems that we have to make this in two steps: first we have to add the user to the team and then add it to the Sharepoint group. Is there a way to automate this process? Or are we doing something wrong? Thank you! Boris1.4KViews0likes1CommentExcel Workbook Share in Teams Chats
This may be a Sharepoint or PowerApps question, but I'm curious to know if there's a way to pull data from multiple workbooks I share in chat threads, and pull those data into one source, like another master workbook on SharePoint, or even a PowerApps app. The scenarios is, I'm a college housing director and send each athletic coach a spreadsheet template for each program and have them fill in fields with their incoming student athlete so I can then assign them in the student information system. I have five coaches, so I share five workbooks, and each one is basically the same. I just hide and protect the fields/cells they don't use. This means I'm navigating between five (actually more like ten, all things considered) as I manually assign everyone. It would be nice to have one workbook in a central location, and somehow pull the workbook/tab/cell data into a central location. As I"m typing this, it sounds like a PowerApps lift. But I don't think I've even seen a connector to a specific file and table in a Teams chat, from within a PowerApps app. Thanks!705Views0likes0CommentsHow To Create A Basic Adaptive Card and Post It To Teams
This tutorial will demonstrate how to use the adaptive card designer to create a basic adaptive card consisting of static text and a clickable button with an embedded Url. It will also demonstrate how to post an adaptive card to a channel in Microsoft Teams using Microsoft Power Automate.
