Show available digital licenses in our Microsoft account in Windows 10 settings, activation
There needs to be a way to view available digital licenses inside our Microsoft account, I think in Windows settings => update and security => Activation would be the most suitable place. it has benefits, the most important one is so user can see their available licenses in their Microsoft account and make a wise decision based on that info. please upvote this feedback in feedback hub: https://aka.ms/AAbdhft
Teams Rooms Limitations
I set up 2 Teams Rooms for one of my clients and in learning how to set up and use a Teams Room and train the client, there seems to be a LOT left to be desired with Teams Room, especially for the price of the Teams Room Pro license! The Teams Room includes an Audio Conference license, but if you want to use it you have to send the invite AS the room. So users needing this would need to be a delegated admin of the room resource. And who wants to send out an invite from "Main Conference Room on behalf of Jane" to their customers? This means each user needs their own Audio Conference license* to send out their own invites and then add the Teams room. What is the point of the room having an audio conference license? If you add a Teams Room to your invite, the attendees are shown the location of the meeting as that conference room, the only clue it is an online/teams meeting is the Teams info in the invite's message body. Then when the attendee gets an Outlook reminder for the meeting it actually shows the location as the conference room NOT a Teams meeting. No minutes are included so you can't actually use the Teams Room as a conference phone unless you add minutes. I would think for the cost of Teams Room Pro it would include a Teams Phone with Calling Plan license. So if you just want to have a conference call you have to setup a whole Teams meeting and then just use the audio portion. This has been a very difficult journey. Explaining all of this to my client after convincing them to spend a good amount of money on a Teams Room setup (equipment cost, to be fair, is not a Microsoft problem) and then continually telling them the limitations and how they need to spend more money for additional licenses to get the features they want is not a good solution. For those looking to sell a Teams Room, do the research first and be warned it is NOT a cheap or easy solution! *Thankfully the Audio Conference license is now free, that's a big thank you out to Microsoft for that!
Why is a fresh Enterprise Evaluation installation license expired?
Hello, normally whenever I would install the Windows Enterprise Evaluation it would automatically activate the 90-day license. This has changed however as this time I did a fresh install (already tried both Windows 10 and 11) I get the Windows License is expired message in the bottom-right corner of the screen. The System->Activation menu says We can't activate Windows on this device right now. You can try activating again later or ... Error code: 0xC004C032. When I run slmgr /ato to activate I sometimes (not sure what the reason for change is - maybe this changed after I tried to change the product key to what I found supposedly is a "generic Enterprise key for recovery") get the same error as above - 0xC004C032 (running slui on that returns The activation server reported that new time based activation is not available) or 0x80072F8F (A security error occured). I read that syncing the date/time might be an issue but as far as I can tell its synced correctly with time.windows.com Any ideas about what the issue could be? Or has something changed in how activation works for evaluation distributions? Any input is appreciated Thanks
OneDrive for Business Service Plan is gone
Hello, I recently wanted to disable the OneDrive for Business Service Plan in a M365 E5 license, but the service plan is not longer listed. The same in O365 E3 licenses. I can still buy the OneDrive for Business Plan 1 and 2, but it seems the plan is not longer listed in license packages. Is the OneDrive service plan now a part of the SharePoint Online plan? Someone with the same experience?
Question about upgrading windows 10 home to pro in prebuilt laptop
Hello, I have this pre-built laptop which comes with windows 10 home already installed in it during time of purchase. I wanted to actually upgrade to pro version. I couldn't able to locate the existing product keys since these are manufacturer installed ones. When I upgrade to pro from Microsoft Store - will I be given a new product key ? Another question - Say that I wanted to re-install windows on my pre-built laptop, how could someone get it done without knowing a product key ?Let us change Windows edition from Windows settings activation section
I have multiple editions of Windows 10 digital license tied to my Microsoft account and It would be really convenient if there was an option in Windows settings so I could choose another edition to Upgrade/Downgrade to. (Not with command-line or installing generic product keys) the same upgrade/downgrade user is offered when troubleshooting activation. for example, when user has Windows 10 pro license in their Microsoft account and the installed edition is Pro for workstation, the activation troubleshooter allows user to Downgrade to Pro, or Vice Versa. Hi anyone, we have a M365 E5 license so i thought that we have Power Automate included. It works for most of things - but today i wanted to add a gateway to my flow - and it says i need a premium license. On this page it says Power Automate included https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compare-microsoft-365-enterprise-plans So do i need to buy a per user license to have the gateway feature?
