Question about upgrading windows 10 home to pro in prebuilt laptop
Hello,
I have this pre-built laptop which comes with windows 10 home already installed in it during time of purchase. I wanted to actually upgrade to pro version.
I couldn't able to locate the existing product keys since these are manufacturer installed ones. When I upgrade to pro from Microsoft Store - will I be given a new product key ?
Another question - Say that I wanted to re-install windows on my pre-built laptop, how could someone get it done without knowing a product key ?

You need to buy a new key for Windows 10 Pro and need to upgrade your existing Windows 10 Home.
- Press Win + I to launch the Settings, then go to the below location:
Update & Security > Activation > Change product key - Add Windows 10 Pro or Home Key, click Next, and then Activate.
- Restart the computer.
- Press Win + I to launch the Settings, then go to the below location:
- SalmanAhmedSteel ContributorThere is a small utility that you can use to backup your installed Windows Key:
