Word for iPad cannot edit documents marked as “Recommended Reading” in Windows
I have a Word document created in Windows that was saved with the “Recommended Reading” option. When I open it in Word for iPad, the file is locked in reading mode and there is no option to switch to editing mode. Word Online can edit the document without any issues, so it seems that the limitation affects only the Word app for iPad. This appears to be a recent limitation, since the document could be edited without any issues a couple of months ago. Is this a known limitation in Word for iPad? Is there any way to remove this flag from the iPad or force editing mode without having to return to Windows? Thank you.Drawing on OneNote for IOs
I'm ready to give up on OneNote... it used to be good. I have two problems that regularly interrupt my work. The first problem I noticed was that when I double tap my Apple Pencil, although it is set to go to the eraser, it does that for a brief moment and then turns into that text-to-type pen. The second, and more important, problem, is that quite regularly all the drawing pens suddenly are greyed out and there is nothing I can do (other than possibly waiting a long time) to get them working again. The first problem I can work with, it's just annoying, the second has got me ready to shift my notes from OneNote. Has anyone got any suggestions for fixing either of these? The support crew have had me try the same things each week, and none of it works. Thanks in anticipation!
Uploading and Saving a pdf file to OneDrive account on iOS FAILS with Sharesheet option
Uploading and Saving a pdf file FAILS with Sharesheet option from inside any app (like WhatsApp) to open Files app on iOS device and inside it choosing a OneDrive folder and then trying to save the file. It is confirmed that the upload completes when tried from Sharesheet to directly on OneDrive app without using Files app. The upload also happens when tried through OneDrive web. The problem is only when Files are tried to be uploaded on OneDrive account through Files app. The issue is not restricted with PDFs and photos, but occurs with all type of files. It occurs with all type of files like .docx, .xlsx, .pdf, .zip files, etc. This issue occurs from all apps when done through ShareSheet. It occurs when trying to uploading file from other apps via the Sharesheet option (e.g., from iMessage, Photos, or Mail). All the trouble shooting steps, viz. Clear Cache in iOS, Clear OneDrive Account Settings, Offloading the OneDrive app, Re-installing OneDrive app, have been tried multiple times on different iPhones. Yet the problem remains the same on all iPhones.
Microsoft Translator Conversation feature stopped working (“Unable to create new conversation”)
When trying to start a conversation, the mobile app (Android/iOS) shows the message: "Unable to create a new conversation. Try again." (Swedish version: "Det går inte att skapa en ny konversation. Försök igen.") About two weeks ago, the live transcription started to become very slow, with text appearing in large chunks instead of line by line. Shortly after that, the Conversation feature stopped working completely. We have tested this on multiple devices and platforms: – Android (several users, including myself) – iOS (tested by a colleague and a user we support) All users experience the same issue — no new conversation can be created. This function is used as a speech-to-text accessibility tool for deaf and hard-of-hearing users, so it is critical for communication support nationally in Sweden.
PowerPoint: Restore “Align” and “Distribute” tools in PP for iPad (v2.103)
Dears, I am reporting a critical regression in PowerPoint for iPad. In the current release (version 2.103), the essential Align and Distribute tools appear to have been completely removed from the UI. These features were part of the full ribbon in previous versions and are fundamental for precise, professional, efficient, effective, and smooth slide layout. Without them, basic layout tasks can no longer be performed smoothly on the iPad. The removal of core layout tools feels like an unexpected downgrade. This change significantly reduces the usability of PowerPoint on this platform and may even force users to switch to lower-tier apps such as Keynote and others for very basic editing tasks. I am fully aware that iPadOS is often perceived as a lightweight or “consumer-first” environment. Ironically, it is precisely the professional quality of Microsoft’s applications that has made the iPad a serious productivity device for many of us. Please keep this standard high – it is the reason why the iPad can function as a genuine professional workstation rather than a creative toy. I have an Apple Watch SE (A2355) and the MS Outlook app cannot be installed on it anymore. It was an excellent way to access my work calendar on the go. The reason is that the OS version is 10.6 but 11 is needed. Is there a workaround or a fix for this? Note that I can't use Apple Calendar because my employer has disabled the Outlook calendar sharing function for security reasons.Cannot Create Conversation on multiple ios and android devices with translator app.
Our schools heavily use the Microsoft Translator application on iOS and Android devices. Starting 10/2 all devices have started receiving the following error message "Cannot create a new conversation, please try again". This has been tested on iOS and Android devices and on multiple networks to verify the issue isn't related to filtering / firewall rules. Application has also been uninstalled / reinstalled and still receive the same error. Family Calendar iOS
I have two organisers (spouse an I) and one member (child) in my family. Spouse and I can see the family calendar listed in iOS's native Calendar app. Child has the same setup but cannot see the calendar in iOS's native Calendar app. If I logon to my email account on outlook.com the Calender shows both under Other Calendars and Group (same calendar entries). If I logon to my child's account on outlook.com the Calendar only shows under Group. How can I have it show under Other Calendars on my child's account? Also, in desperation I installed the Outlook app on my child's iphone and that doesn't show Group Calendars either.
