Hello! I'm having a bug with Profile Pictures. I've tried changing it many times, but I receive an error every time. What makes this stranger is I have never set a profile picture in Teams but somehow Teams imported an old profile Picture from my Xbox Account - And won't let me change it. I've tried to change my profile picture in Teams on Windows and Android. Windows gives this error: "There was a problem saving the photo. Please try again" Android gives this error: "Failed to update profile picture. Please try again" So, what in want to know is: 1. Why Teams is not using my Microsoft Account profile picture. 2. Why Teams is using my Xbox 360 Profile Picture. 3. How do I fix this so Teams can use the profile picture I want it to. Please find screenshots of errors & of my MS and Xbox accounts attached. Additional: My wife is also having the exact same problem on her account.Solved134KViews3likes20CommentsIntroducing the new Microsoft Teams chat and channels experience

If I use keyboard media keys to pause music when I receive a call in teams, the notification sound doesn't seem to get dismissed when I answer the call. So, when I later press play, it also resumes playing the teams call sound over my music. It does seem to go away on it's own eventually, but it's kind of annoying when I want to listen to music!Solved63KViews12likes47Comments[Windows 11] Hover on taskbar apps don't get preview when open multiple windows of the same app

I am using Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.11161 (64-bit). It was last updated on 4/22/2021. Ever since the latest release, it has been stealing the focus from other applications. It does this consistently whenever I am on a video call and one of the other participants switches into (or out of) screen-sharing mode. By "stealing focus" I am specifically saying that if I am focused on any other application on either of my 2 screens, and the other person on the call switches into or out of screen-share on their machine, then my local MS-Teams app window forcibly comes to the top/foreground window and grabs the focus away from whatever other window/app I was in. It forces me to alt-tab back to that application to continue. And before you ask: Yes, I reported this via the "Report a Problem" link in the application as well. I just am so frustrated by this that I felt the need to report it here too, maybe to see just how many others are experiencing this behavior as well. MS Teams: PLEASE FIX THIS HORRIFIC BEHAVIOR! Sincerely, Rich LarsonSolved25KViews13likes31CommentsWhy bugs in Windows updates increased
Has the number of bugs in Windows updates increased in the past couple of years? If so, what is the reason for the increase in bugs? That's the question that former Microsoft Senior SDET Jerry Berg answered. Berg worked for 15 years at Microsoft and one of his roles was to design and develop tools and processes to automate testing for the Microsoft Windows operating system. He left the company after Windows 8.1 shipped to the public. Microsoft changed testing processes significantly in the past couple of years. Berg describes how testing was done in the late 2014 early 2015 period and how Microsoft's testing processes changed since then. Back in 2014/2015, Microsoft employed an entire team that was dedicated to testing the operating system, builds, updates, drivers, and other code. The team consisted of multiple groups that would run tests and discuss bugs and issues in daily meetings. Tests were conducted manually by the team and through automated testing, and if tests were passed, would give the okay to integrate the code into Windows. The teams ran the tests on "real" hardware in a lab through automated testing. The machines had different hardware components, e.g. processors, hard drives, video and sound cards, and other components to cover a wide range of system configurations, and this meant that bugs that affected only certain hardware components or configurations were detected in the process. Microsoft laid off almost the entire Windows Test team as it moved the focus from three different systems -- Windows, Windows Mobile and Xbox -- to a single system. The company moved most of the testing to virtual machines and this meant that tests were no longer conducted on real and diverse hardware configurations for the most part. Microsoft employees could self-host Windows which would mean that their machines would also be used for testing purposes. The main idea behind that was to get feedback from Microsoft employees when they encountered issues that they encountered during work days. Berg notes that self-hosting is not as widely used anymore as it was before. The main sources of testing data, apart from the automated test systems that are in place, comes from Telemetry and Windows Insiders. Windows Insider builds are installed on millions of devices and Microsoft collects Telemetry from all of these devices. If something crashes, Microsoft gets information about it. One of the issues associated with the collecting of Telemetry is that most bugs are not caught by it. If something does not work right, Microsoft may not be able to discern the relevant bits from Telemetry data. While it is in theory possible that users report issues, many don't and at other times, issues may go under because of other feedback that Microsoft gets from Insiders. Additionally, while Insiders may report bugs, it is often the case that necessary information is not supplied to Microsoft which poses huge issues for the engineers tasked with resolving these issues. Tip: you can view the Telemetry data that Microsoft collects. Back in 2014/2015, Microsoft's Testing team would be tasked with analyzing bugs and issues, and supplying engineers with the data they required to resolve these. Nowadays, it is Telemetry that the engineers look at to figure out how to fix these issues and fixes are then pushed to customer devices running Insider Builds again to see if the issue got fixed or if it created new bugs. One of the main reasons why Microsoft stopped pushing out new feature updates to everyone at once was that issues that were not detected by the processed could potentially affect a large number of customers. To avoid total disasters like the Windows 10 version 1809 launch, gradual rollouts were introduced that would prevent feature updates from being delivered via Windows Update to the majority of machines in the early days of the release. Closing Words Microsoft exchanged the in-house Testing team with Telemetry data that it gathers from Insider Builds that it pushes to consumer and business devices, and replaced much of the PCs that it used for testing with virtual environments. https://youtu.be/S9kn8_oztsA11KViews0likes1CommentWhy Microsoft Team doesn't work in Chromium?
I'm using Chromium the open source project behind Chrome. In Chrome everything works fine but not in Chromium. The biggest difference between the two browsers is that, while Chrome is based on Chromium, Google also adds a number of proprietary features to Chrome like automatic updates and support for additional video formats.9.4KViews0likes1CommentToDo could be much more - bugs & basic features missing
I hope someone high up from ToDo product team reads this and it starts a good discussion. First up, I really like this application and the integrations with M365 including Teams and Planner. I love the simplicity of the one priority level using the star system and I love the idea behind “MyDay” but… The issues You haven’t released any new features that will help people be more productive and have less friction using your app. I cannot recall what real new feature you released (other than integrations with M365) in 2020 besides the “A.I. Auto suggestions” one but who was asking for this? I didn’t see this feature high up on the User Voice requests? Who thought that this would be a good idea? There are so many basic things missing that it would serve you best to release features that are actually useful and then work on bringing AI features to the product when it is mature enough. The pace of new features being released is shocking. It took you 5 months to deliver an iOS widget which was a big deal to iPhone users. I think you only delivered this because of the amount of requests coming in from Twitter. Apple release an iPhone and iPad OS upgrade every September. Other major task list apps had their widgets ready for iOS14 launch. How could this have taken you by surprise? Inconsistencies across the platform continues to increase friction using this app. For example, Natural Language is on iOS but not on the web yet. There are even inconsistencies within the web app – see below. Recurring tasks repeats to past dates instead of next available date in the recurring sequence. Difficult to describe so for example, let’s say I have a daily task to clear my desk. On Monday through Thursday, I leave it uncompleted but on Friday I complete it but now it jumps to Tuesday – have to complete – Wednesday – have to complete – Thursday – have to complete – Friday – complete before it jumps to Saturday. Why don’t you have logic built in so that when you complete a recurring task that it skips to next recurring date? The Bugs (most of which have plagued the app since the beginning): Sync issues across the platform. It is unbelievable how you still have this issue. I have reported to your support team and have tried to help but still persists. If you cannot get sync right then a cross platform app isn’t going to work, is it? Being asked to refresh the web a few times per day which sometimes needs you to log back in (this is related to sync issues methinks) is a complete pain. App crashes on iOS a lot. I think this happens after I switch accounts between my personal and work M365 accounts. Reported to your support team. iOS app sometimes does not let you tap on a task to get into the details of the task to set due dates or view steps. The app remains functional but no matter which list you are in it won’t let you access task details until you kill the app to resolve. Reported to your support team. Shared lists from my personal M365 in my work M365 works as in I can see the list but all I see is “getting list ready” and nothing else happens. So, you cannot share your personal 365 lists with Work lists as you say you do! Basic features required to complete with the likes of Todoist (way ahead of everyone), Tick Tick (not far behind Todoist) and Things (albeit not cross platform) are listed below. Some of my suggestions are already on User Voice but not getting traction on upvoting which is a real shame as I would consider these to be so basic for any ToDo list application. The web application needs Plugin – on Chrome, Edge Chromium and possibly Firefox Natural Language Input like on iOS Right click on a task should have the option to move to next week (Monday for me). You have this option when you click into the task and tap on the due date field. Inconsistent! Allow me drag a task(s) down or up beyond the screen to move tasks around when inside a large list full of tasks. It is not fluid and I cannot believe I can’t do this inside the web app. The iOS and iPadOS apps need Essential More sorting options for My Day and Starred lists – urgently needs sort by list option. Option to remove completed tasks from searches like you can on the web version. More swipe options to quickly postpone to tomorrow, next week and so on. You had introduced long press to reveal a decent context menu to allow this happen, but you removed this feature – why? Need “remove date” option when you multi select tasks. Switch between work and personal M365 accounts seamlessly. Nice to have Split screen capability for iPads. More iOS Keyboard shortcuts so you can zip through the app using keyboard shortcuts to move around the app more (like Things by Culturedcode) General features missing: Essential View completed tasks by completed date Allow “My Day” be populated the night before You cannot move tasks from within the search results view. When inside a task you have no option to move it and instead have to back out of the taks and perform the move task elsewhere. Needs more recurring options like repeat every weekday or every 1st day of the month. Outlook calendar integration – I know this is on the cards as it is one of the highest User Voice requests. Allow ToDo have a downloadable installer rather than only accessing ToDo through the Windows app store. Corporate IT block users from downloading anything from the app store AND without an MSI or EXE file, IT cannot deploy the app on a laptop image. You need to separate tasks from emails for corporate archiving rules. Let’s say your IT department has implemented a corporate archive rule for emails older than 90 days to move to your archived mailbox folder but when this triggers your tasks are archived with them which means you can no longer see these tasks inside ToDo and have to view them in the archived list in Outlook. This is a real pain and becomes more troublesome for recurring tasks. This is a crazy decision to have made but I understand this is probably not the ToDo Team’s issue but more the Outlook team. Nice to have (but get the above basics sorted first) Allow swipe down to manually sync Easily import or exports tasks (without the need to export the entire mailbox). Headings inside a list for better flexibility to arrange tasks in a large list. Alexa integration – not the 3rd party one which works but your own officially supported one. Proper tagging solution – not many people are aware of the #tag option so allow you view these tags somewhere other than having to search for them. Ability to create smart lists and pin them to main menu (like Todoist). Note: I can only speak for iOS, iPadOS and Web as I do not use the Windows version nor Android apps. I have approx. 900 tasks and am using the latest Betas for iOS and iPadOS. I am still using this app and am pushing it internally throughout my team and organisation. I hope to see some of the above issues addressed to make ToDo a go to app for task management. Thanks for reading! Michael8KViews11likes11CommentsTeams opens an old meeting on launch
I had a meeting with my child's school months ago, and now every time I launch MS Teams a window of the expired meeting opens with giant confusing UI. My company instance of MS Teams also opens, in a separate window. It's confusing and annoying to close the old glitchy window on every launch. How can I stop this from happening? I'm running macOS Catalina 10.15.7. I can't tell which version of Teams I'm running because when I go to "Microsoft Teams -> About Microsoft Teams" either nothing happens, or the glitchy window opens 😂Solved7KViews0likes1CommentBottom Download bar lag 4-5sec
See the green progress bar in the edge icon has already started but download bar is not appearing yet there is aleast 4-5 sec lag which is not tolerable(400-500ms is OK). To reproduce this lag try downloading a file from OneDrive/Google Drive with a bunch of tabs. (*I have not closed the downloads bar) (*In built gamebar doesnot record the taskbar and I donot want to waste time in installing a screen recorder because it is very easy to reproduce)6.4KViews0likes24Comments
