I am using Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.11161 (64-bit). It was last updated on 4/22/2021. Ever since the latest release, it has been stealing the focus from other applications. It does this consistently whenever I am on a video call and one of the other participants switches into (or out of) screen-sharing mode. By "stealing focus" I am specifically saying that if I am focused on any other application on either of my 2 screens, and the other person on the call switches into or out of screen-share on their machine, then my local MS-Teams app window forcibly comes to the top/foreground window and grabs the focus away from whatever other window/app I was in. It forces me to alt-tab back to that application to continue. And before you ask: Yes, I reported this via the "Report a Problem" link in the application as well. I just am so frustrated by this that I felt the need to report it here too, maybe to see just how many others are experiencing this behavior as well. MS Teams: PLEASE FIX THIS HORRIFIC BEHAVIOR! Sincerely, Rich LarsonSolved25KViews13likes31CommentsMedia Keys and Teams notifications
If I use keyboard media keys to pause music when I receive a call in teams, the notification sound doesn't seem to get dismissed when I answer the call. So, when I later press play, it also resumes playing the teams call sound over my music. It does seem to go away on it's own eventually, but it's kind of annoying when I want to listen to music!Solved63KViews12likes47CommentsToDo could be much more - bugs & basic features missing
I hope someone high up from ToDo product team reads this and it starts a good discussion. First up, I really like this application and the integrations with M365 including Teams and Planner. I love the simplicity of the one priority level using the star system and I love the idea behind “MyDay” but… The issues You haven’t released any new features that will help people be more productive and have less friction using your app. I cannot recall what real new feature you released (other than integrations with M365) in 2020 besides the “A.I. Auto suggestions” one but who was asking for this? I didn’t see this feature high up on the User Voice requests? Who thought that this would be a good idea? There are so many basic things missing that it would serve you best to release features that are actually useful and then work on bringing AI features to the product when it is mature enough. The pace of new features being released is shocking. It took you 5 months to deliver an iOS widget which was a big deal to iPhone users. I think you only delivered this because of the amount of requests coming in from Twitter. Apple release an iPhone and iPad OS upgrade every September. Other major task list apps had their widgets ready for iOS14 launch. How could this have taken you by surprise? Inconsistencies across the platform continues to increase friction using this app. For example, Natural Language is on iOS but not on the web yet. There are even inconsistencies within the web app – see below. Recurring tasks repeats to past dates instead of next available date in the recurring sequence. Difficult to describe so for example, let’s say I have a daily task to clear my desk. On Monday through Thursday, I leave it uncompleted but on Friday I complete it but now it jumps to Tuesday – have to complete – Wednesday – have to complete – Thursday – have to complete – Friday – complete before it jumps to Saturday. Why don’t you have logic built in so that when you complete a recurring task that it skips to next recurring date? The Bugs (most of which have plagued the app since the beginning): Sync issues across the platform. It is unbelievable how you still have this issue. I have reported to your support team and have tried to help but still persists. If you cannot get sync right then a cross platform app isn’t going to work, is it? Being asked to refresh the web a few times per day which sometimes needs you to log back in (this is related to sync issues methinks) is a complete pain. App crashes on iOS a lot. I think this happens after I switch accounts between my personal and work M365 accounts. Reported to your support team. iOS app sometimes does not let you tap on a task to get into the details of the task to set due dates or view steps. The app remains functional but no matter which list you are in it won’t let you access task details until you kill the app to resolve. Reported to your support team. Shared lists from my personal M365 in my work M365 works as in I can see the list but all I see is “getting list ready” and nothing else happens. So, you cannot share your personal 365 lists with Work lists as you say you do! Basic features required to complete with the likes of Todoist (way ahead of everyone), Tick Tick (not far behind Todoist) and Things (albeit not cross platform) are listed below. Some of my suggestions are already on User Voice but not getting traction on upvoting which is a real shame as I would consider these to be so basic for any ToDo list application. The web application needs Plugin – on Chrome, Edge Chromium and possibly Firefox Natural Language Input like on iOS Right click on a task should have the option to move to next week (Monday for me). You have this option when you click into the task and tap on the due date field. Inconsistent! Allow me drag a task(s) down or up beyond the screen to move tasks around when inside a large list full of tasks. It is not fluid and I cannot believe I can’t do this inside the web app. The iOS and iPadOS apps need Essential More sorting options for My Day and Starred lists – urgently needs sort by list option. Option to remove completed tasks from searches like you can on the web version. More swipe options to quickly postpone to tomorrow, next week and so on. You had introduced long press to reveal a decent context menu to allow this happen, but you removed this feature – why? Need “remove date” option when you multi select tasks. Switch between work and personal M365 accounts seamlessly. Nice to have Split screen capability for iPads. More iOS Keyboard shortcuts so you can zip through the app using keyboard shortcuts to move around the app more (like Things by Culturedcode) General features missing: Essential View completed tasks by completed date Allow “My Day” be populated the night before You cannot move tasks from within the search results view. When inside a task you have no option to move it and instead have to back out of the taks and perform the move task elsewhere. Needs more recurring options like repeat every weekday or every 1st day of the month. Outlook calendar integration – I know this is on the cards as it is one of the highest User Voice requests. Allow ToDo have a downloadable installer rather than only accessing ToDo through the Windows app store. Corporate IT block users from downloading anything from the app store AND without an MSI or EXE file, IT cannot deploy the app on a laptop image. You need to separate tasks from emails for corporate archiving rules. Let’s say your IT department has implemented a corporate archive rule for emails older than 90 days to move to your archived mailbox folder but when this triggers your tasks are archived with them which means you can no longer see these tasks inside ToDo and have to view them in the archived list in Outlook. This is a real pain and becomes more troublesome for recurring tasks. This is a crazy decision to have made but I understand this is probably not the ToDo Team’s issue but more the Outlook team. Nice to have (but get the above basics sorted first) Allow swipe down to manually sync Easily import or exports tasks (without the need to export the entire mailbox). Headings inside a list for better flexibility to arrange tasks in a large list. Alexa integration – not the 3rd party one which works but your own officially supported one. Proper tagging solution – not many people are aware of the #tag option so allow you view these tags somewhere other than having to search for them. Ability to create smart lists and pin them to main menu (like Todoist). Note: I can only speak for iOS, iPadOS and Web as I do not use the Windows version nor Android apps. I have approx. 900 tasks and am using the latest Betas for iOS and iPadOS. I am still using this app and am pushing it internally throughout my team and organisation. I hope to see some of the above issues addressed to make ToDo a go to app for task management. Thanks for reading! Hello! I'm having a bug with Profile Pictures. I've tried changing it many times, but I receive an error every time. What makes this stranger is I have never set a profile picture in Teams but somehow Teams imported an old profile Picture from my Xbox Account - And won't let me change it. I've tried to change my profile picture in Teams on Windows and Android. Windows gives this error: "There was a problem saving the photo. Please try again" Android gives this error: "Failed to update profile picture. Please try again" So, what in want to know is: 1. Why Teams is not using my Microsoft Account profile picture. 2. Why Teams is using my Xbox 360 Profile Picture. 3. How do I fix this so Teams can use the profile picture I want it to. Please find screenshots of errors & of my MS and Xbox accounts attached. Additional: My wife is also having the exact same problem on her account.Solved134KViews3likes20CommentsCritical Chat Bugs Remain Unfixed
Version 25094.310.3616.953 was just released and your still have EXTREMELY SERIOUS bugs that are still not fixed. This is disgraceful. Chat Bugs: Bug that makes Teams Chat Worthless: If you set Settings, General, "Open Application in Background" two things happen: First, When restarting Windows the tray icon does not appear. Second (makes Teams Worthless): If you receive a chat message, there is NO notification that it arrived. There is no tray icon and even if you pin Teams to the taskbar, that also does NOT show a notification of a missed chat message. This is makes teams WORTHLESS for chats. More Chat Bugs: Bug 1: Read Receipts do NOT work if you have Teams installed on more than one computer. This is a serous bug that never happened with Skype. Bug 2: The Tray icon does NOT show unread chats. This is a serous bug that never happened with Skype. Note: If your Right click on Teams and select "Pin To Taskbar", that icon will work (but not the tray icon). This assumes you do NOT select ""Open Application in Background"! Bug 3: When set to start up in background, the tray icon does not appear. Bug 4: Right clicking the tray icon causes Teams to crash and the tray icon to close. Bug 5: Teams status is unreliable and frequently shows "unknown". See Screenshot. Get your Act Together. The new Teams app is widely perceived as a buggy festering pile of crap by a significant portion of its user base, particularly among IT professionals tasked with supporting it. While a minority report improvements, the prevailing sentiment is negative, driven by technical problems, forced migration, and inadequate support responses. Many organizations are now seeking alternatives due to the ongoing issues.717Views2likes0CommentsTo-Do for iOS v2.0.1 crashes when setting reminder
When I attempt to set the reminder date (not due date) for a task in To-Do for iOS v2.0.1 the app suddenly disapoears in nowhere. Ergo setting due date is not possible in v2.0.1. VERY PITY! I used reminders to plan tasks in advance of the due date. They than were shown in the list of planned tasks in chronological order. VERY USEFUL to get ahead in accomplishing your goals. Looking forward to see a fix as soon as possible. This is a really helpful, beautiful and clean app. THANK YOU!Windows 10 Photo Bug? - Image Magnification Issues
Hello, Some Context of Problem Due to covid, my assessors have requested that I submit my evidence of coursework as attachments, within a limitation of submitting 15 files. Because some of this evidence has to be screen grabbed, the limitations of copy/pasting them inside a word document would limit the viewable resolution (text heavy therefore lots of small font), as well as word processors default with page breaks, margins etc. Therefore I saved my evidence as .jpgs for reasons explained below. I purchased screen manipulation software https://www.techsmith.com/, to stitch my evidence together to meet the maximum 15 pieces of evidence requirements, whilst also being able to annotate my work, another requirement set by my assessors. Issues With Viewing .jpgs Using Windows 10 Photos When my .jpg files were compiled and completed, I was able to zoom in with the Windows 10 Photos app, and scroll with a high fidelity of resolution, back at the end of June 2021 when I last properly revisited them. However due to waiting for the new academic year, my files could not be reviewed until now (October 2021). It seems Windows 10 Photos can't magnify up to 100% anymore, or view the files zoomed in to the degree I used to, which has prompted my assessors (who are likely using Windows 10 systems also) to be having the same issue (possibly?), but probably assume an caused at my end, and would not know this might be affecting other Windows 10 computers, if it is. May I ask if anyone else is having issues with magnifying .jpgs with Windows 10 Photos, that can't reach 100%, or is anyone aware of a bug with the Photo software? Troubleshooting Using Other Image Viewers I've saved the .jpgs to my Google drive, and can view them at close up without issues using the web image viewer, and have even downloaded software to bring back the previous Windows Photo Viewer (for Windows 7/8), which works fine also. Uninstalling / Reinstalling Photos App I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Photos app also, but to no avail. Perhaps if the app has been updated recently or the past few months, the update has caused this bug to occur (if it is not just me). Lastly This issue will really only be noticeable to others if they have a long or large file .jpg file, which is an unusual method of recording evidence. Thanks for your patience reading this.2KViews1like1Comment[Windows 11] Hover on taskbar apps don't get preview when open multiple windows of the same app
