I would like to switch from using Zoom to Microsoft Teams but, unfortunately, the way it is currently set up makes it so that I can't. We often have large meetings with 10+ breakout rooms (sometimes up to 30) and hosts need to jump between rooms to ensure everything is going alright and everyone is staying on track. This can't happen in Teams, as it doesn't allow co-hosts at all, so only the meeting organizers can move between rooms. Is there any way to set other hosts to be able to co-host with you? Preferably people that do not have to belong to your organization, as often the co-hosts might not be on the same account as I am.Solved102KViews11likes20CommentsChat in Breakout Rooms Disabled
Hi, I'm admin for TEAMS in a school. We need to use the breakout rooms with our students. Within the breakout rooms the chat function is disabled for all students although in the main meeting chat is enabled for them, even when they have the presenter role (see image). For teachers the chat function is enabled. Where can I enable the chat for students? Thanks!Solved13KViews1like11CommentsSeveral breakout rooms questions
Is it possible to recall single users back into the main room once they're in their sub-room? I believe there are three user levels: Organiser, Presenter and Guest. Is it possible for there to be multiple Organisers? If a new meeting is set up in Outlook 365 for Windows (New Items > Teams Meeting) from a shared mailbox, who is classed as the Organiser? Can a Presenter or Guest choose a specific sub-room to assign themselves to? Can a Presenter or Guest move between sub-rooms themselves? Can you send, for example, a link or an image to all sub-rooms at once? Can you record breakout room sessions? (voice audio, the text chat etc.)Solved4.9KViews0likes2CommentsChoose an organiser for meetings booked in bookings
I am using Bookings to create events for multiple people that a member of staff then hosts as online meeting in Teams. However, as the staff member is not the meeting Organiser (this is the bookings app I assume as it shows the organiser as the company) The person running the meeting cannot access the necessary features as they are not the organiser! any ideas how if there is a way to change this default behaviour in books?4.4KViews1like5CommentsRe-use breakout rooms over multiple meetings
Hi, Would be great for Microsoft to add a feature to breakout rooms so that the same rooms can be used over multiple meetings as long as it is still within the same team (especially if it can pick up the same breakout room chat). It would also be awesome to be able to pre-create breakout room 'sets' with different room configurations. E.g. 'Writing Groups' with members assigned to breakout room group 1, 2, 3, etc. 'Reading Groups' with a different configuration of rooms. or 'Project X' groups and 'Cool use for business so that it hits Microsoft's radar' groups.3KViews0likes2CommentsBreakout Teams Question - Black Screen
Hello all! I host a lot of trainings but today faced an error that was new. I was able to move everyone to a breakout room but only group 1 could see and hear each other. The other rooms were unable to go off mute and saw a black screen. I went into the rooms, and they could hear me, but they could not hear/see each other. I closed and re-opened the rooms with no luck. Any thoughts? Thanks!2.9KViews1like2CommentsCo-Organisers
Great work with the Co-Organisers within Teams Meeting Options. Are there plans to also include the control of the Breakout rooms to Co-Organisers without the Organiser having to set them up first and give others control? Could this be added as a Check Box to the Meeting Options? It's very annoying when the Organiser hasn't given others Breakout room controls and they lose connection whilst the breakout rooms are open and in use. Teams effectively take all members of the Breakout Rooms hostage. The only way to get them back is for someone to email all delegates and ask them to come back manually. I'm not always around to be able to log on as the Organiser and rescue the hostages! Can we have a button please 🙂Participant get stuck in breakout room lobby
Hi We have participants who get stuck in the lobby in breakout rooms, eventhough the main room meeting setting is set to allow everyone to skip the lobby. In the main meeting no get stuck in the lobby. When you check the meeting setting in the breakout room, only people from our organization can skip the lobby. The main room settings and the breakout room setting are not the same. Can you change the meeting setting default for meeting setting? We use Teams meetings only. No channel breakout rooms.2.4KViews0likes2CommentsTurn the audio on in breakout rooms
Hello everyone I've encountered the same problem while joining breakout rooms. My audio is always deactivated as well as my microphone. I managed to connect to the audio and activate my microphone but It's quite annoying as I constantly need to move from breakout rooms to monitor my learners. Is there a way to set up this in advance? Thank you2KViews0likes3CommentsAttendees showing as 'Guest' causing breakout-room issues
We're using Teams for our seminars at university, and were excited when breakout-rooms rolled out. But, we've been unable to use breakout-rooms because there are always some students showing as 'guests'. Guests are greyed-out and can't be assigned to breakout rooms. It happened to me last week - I'd joined in the normal way, but I was registered as 'guest'. Also, my screen looked different - the controls were at the bottom of the screen instead of the top, there were less of them, and there was a 'hang up' icon instead of 'leave'. We've tried making sure everyone have accepted the Teams invitation, and left and rejoined, but it hasn't made any difference. Help!!!!1.7KViews0likes1Comment
