Hi All, I am trying to add a 'Go to Top of Document' link to each page of a very large Word document. Preferably I would like it in the footer area. When I add a link to a bookmark in the footer area you can see the link but it is not clickable. The word document will mostly be read from different mobile devices like iPhone's and Android mobile phones so there needs to be a link on each page at the bottom. I am using the latest version of MS Office (Office 365 ProPlus desktop application). MS Word is basically the same as Word 2016. I hope you can help Alan116KViews3likes5CommentsOffice Add-ins error: Cannot connect to catalog
One of our admin-managed add-ins (Adobe Sign) has gone AWOL from the ribbon of the Word desktop app recently (it still shows up in the web-app version of Word). One of the suggested troubleshooting steps is to check review the Office Add-ins from within the app itself. When doing so, I receive an error: Insert ribbon-->Add-ins section-->My Add-ins-->See all...-->Admin Managed "Cannot connect to catalog" I've tried: signing out, back in, clearing the Office cache, and redeploying the add-in from central management. The deployment always reports that it was successful. Can anyone else reproduce this "Cannot connect to catalog" issue, or suggest additional troubleshooting steps/workarounds?68KViews1like21CommentsEquations not rendering in Word
Hi everyone, I have an Office 365 Subscription and so I use the online version of Word for my work, I've done so for a number of months. All of a sudden today all of my maths equations stopped rendering. Now all I see, if I try to use the equation editor, is a grey box that says [Equation]. This is true for new documents and also all of my old documents that included equations. I've tried logging in and out again and tried on Chorome and Safari. I lean on this function quite heavily for my work so any help would be appreciated.Solved33KViews1like17CommentsUsing Tab stops in Word vs. Word Online
Has anyone come accros the issue using tab stopss in a document (Word) and when opening in Word Online the Tab stops are gone? I noticed that I can't create them in Word Online, and the ones created in Word are not being displayed. Is this a known issue? This will be a major problem in using Word/Word Online in Education.Solved28KViews0likes9CommentsCan edit document stored in SharePoint in Word Online but not Word 2016
Hi all - weird one for you! We've got a load of Word files in a document library in SharePoint (Office 365). The files use 2 content types (which may or may not be relevant) - here's the problem / symptoms: For existing files using the 'Document' content type, I can edit them fine in Word 2016 or Word Online. For new files using the 'Document' content type or any files using the 'Contract' content type, I can edit them in Word Online, but cannot in Word 2016. The documents open in read-only mode in Word 2016 so can't be amended / saved. If I rename one of the problem files in SharePoint and then open it in Word 2016, it opens in edit mode and I can make and save changes. However, if I close the file and then go back into it in Word 2016 it's in read-only mode again!!! The 'Contract' content type is not set to read-only. The 'Contract' content type includes a number of mandatory fields. I can edit these fields / document properties for all files in SharePoint (through Details or Datasheet view). When I've edited and saved a file in Word Online, I cannot then see the changes when opening the same file in Word 2016. It opens in read-only and says that changes have been made by another author and that I'll see them when I save the file ... which I can't do as it's opened in read-only mode. Other users are experiencing exactly the same issue. I've tried repairing Office 2016, cleaned out cached files from the upload centre and so on, but to no avail. I've also tried checking files out before editing them, but they still open in read-only mode in Word 2016. It can't be a permissions thing as I can rename files and edit them in Word online. It's as if the link between Word 2016 and the files on SharePoint is completely broken. Has anyone experienced this or got any ideas please as this is causing us significant problems. Thanks as always, Oz26KViews0likes10CommentsCan't copy/paste in Word Online

I would like to transcribe an audio file. Unfortunately, I have not been able to upload any more files since yesterday, as it stops uploading every time from 94%. However, I have been able to use this function several times over the last few days without any problems. I have already chatted with the support team and it is not due to my equipment or account. However, they could not help me any further.15KViews4likes20CommentsSession Expired - Please refresh error message
Another user and I are working on the same word document online. When he works in a table entering data, we both receive the "Sorry your session expired. Please refresh the page to continue". This only happens when he is entering data in the table. He can copy and paste tables in the document and he can enter text in other places without issue. It is only when working inside the table. I receive the same error when he does even if I'm not doing anything in the document. I could just be watching what he is typing and I get the error. Any suggestions?14KViews1like2CommentsDocument Library, clicking New and opening in the client application?
There is a SharePoint Site Collection feature called "Open Documents in Client Applications by Default" which when activated, any library where you click on a office document it will open in the thick client. However in these document library, if a user click "New" it creates a new document and opens it in the browser. Is there a way to prevent this functionality? I would like new and existing documents to all open in the client application, not just existing.Solved11KViews0likes10Comments
