In fourth quarter of 2024, I decided to upgrade my machine and tried out a web only version (freeware) of Microsoft 365. After some time, I found out that I was not getting the qualities I needed for documentation to be presentable as Microsoft Word and Excel were not usable for print formats. I decided to buy a Microsoft 365 Business subscription (bought through my domain provider) which allowed me to use my email address attached to me and my website domain. This allowed me to also download desktop copies of Word and Excel. However, I ran into problems with old accounts colliding with my new ones..., for example, Skype for Business, Microsoft Store, and Microsoft Live would constantly appear in my installation admins. If I attempted to install them, the installation would fail and get stuck i.e, I could not remove them. Microsoft message pop-ups would state, "You cannot install this on a 'work' account." I thought to myself, "Okay, I installed my Windows OS as a "Work Account on my new machine." This made sense, because I could go to my browser on my new machine and I could go to my old laptop that had absolutely no Microsoft 365 on it and access my Office from my browser profile. My old laptop is the only machine that accepts the Windows Live email address i.e., it acts as a Windows Live access service via the 'free' outlook account to which it is attached. However, now that all these items are separated by Work or Home classification, I keep getting messages that state, "We cannot renew your Microsoft 365 account." But my Work account should not be attached to Microsoft Live accounts...should it? After all, it uses Entra ID for access and the subscription is bought through my domain vendor. Why is Microsoft Support sending me these emails? My original setup accessed Microsoft Live accounts via the web through my old laptop using my free Outlook email and looked something like the graphic below:62Views0likes1CommentMicrosoft 365 & Windows 365 Outage - 2 Weeks
Our company's Microsoft 365 (including email) and Windows 365 licenses have been completely disabled for two weeks. This is severely impacting our business: clients can't email us, we can't send emails, and access to critical data on our virtual desktops is lost. We've contacted Microsoft multiple times with no resolution. This prolonged outage is causing significant operational paralysis and forcing data recreation. We urgently need assistance in understanding the cause and a swift resolution to restore our services. We have tried reactivating, and have attempted getting through a Microsoft partner, but nothing has helped. Any advice on escalating this critical issue would be greatly appreciated.215Views0likes3CommentsForce update to targeted release for Teams?
We have a number of people on the M365 targeted release option and they've been getting the updates including Teams for a while ⬇️ We also added some more people over 72 hours (3 days) ago to the targeted release option in the M365 admin center but they still don't have the Teams update They've signed out of the Teams desktop app and then signed in again to try and move things along but no change How long should this take? Is there a way of making this happen quicker? Thanks57Views0likes1CommentReport all active users in tenant and their installed integrated apps
Our security team has requested that we block the install of any Copilot apps until our AI policy is in place. Before we do this, I'd like to know what apps from Microsoft 365 admin center > Settings > Integrated apps > Available apps are currently installed by our users. I don't see any way that the UI offers this capability, so I believe it will be PowerShell. I did already run the following script, but it returns only 2 apps, which are apps we have deployed to our users. It's possible our 2600 users haven't installed anything else, but not probable. Install-Module O365CentralizedAddInDeployment Import-Module -Name O365CentralizedAddInDeployment Connect-OrganizationAddInService Get-OrganizationAddIn If the above isn't possible, it would also be useful to find a script that would give me a list of users who have a given app (from 365 Integrated apps > Available apps) installed, such as CopilotForce or Microsoft Copilot Studio.104Views0likes2CommentsMicrosoft 365 automatically unchecks the Authenticated SMTP under a user
Do you know why Microsoft 355 is automatically unchecking the "Authenticated SMTP" under a user? Our server and configuration have not changed, or update and we never had this problem. Last week we noticed that the "Authenticated SMTP" was unchecked, for the only user that is setup, and we corrected the problem by checking the box but a day later we are facing the same problem and having to constantly go to Microsoft 360 to check the "Authenticated SMTP" Can you please let me know what to do to fix this problem? Thank you102Views0likes2CommentsSeattle Conference

Artificial Intelligence and PowerShell should be a good thing to help hard-pressed Microsoft 365 tenant administrators cope with common tasks. The early signs are there with Copilot in the Microsoft 365 admin center. However, the current state of the art depends on what’s gone before and can’t handle the kind of complex automation that tenants sometimes need, like generating a licensing report from Entra ID, product information, and license costs. https://office365itpros.com/2025/03/27/artificial-intelligence-and-powershell/20Views1like0CommentsArticle on Migration of file share to SharePoint Site
